Those dumb twats won't let me offer more than 11k p/w salary to one of the greatest United legends, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Queerarse is also convinced that renewing Solskjaers contract isn't worth-while, f'uck him, renewing HIS contract wouldn't be worth-while but now I have to let OG go for free.

He has 7 months left on his current contract, that does mean I'm fecked right? Is there even a slight chance of getting something out of this, if I put him on transfer list (like I'd have the heart to do that anyways) will there be a chance of someone actually buying him? It's december in my game so the transfer window isn't too far from now.

Not too much of a hit to my team, as he would just be a backup anyway (injured atm) and my finances are ok, but still damn annoying. I was really looking forward to his come-back.

Can you not offer him a better role in the team? (and hence a higher salary) Or offer him a match/appearance bonus?

Maybe hang on to him, and then try the old release on a free <> sign as a free agent trick ;)

tbh i never really played Ole Gunnar in fm05, though when he did play he wasn't too bad.

That trick didnt work that well in FM 2005 well for me anyway

My problem kind of solved itself. I offered him the same 11k wage but added the maximum sign on fee and bonuses plus a better squad status and he accepted a new contract for the same 7 months he had left on his previous one, so his wages went from 38k p/w to 11k p/w. Now he recovered faster than expected and I used him the first game he was fit again, he did well and when I checked his contract demands afterwards, the maximum wage allowed was suddenly changed to 90k p/w. The thing is, now he only wants 11k :) So I'm probably going to offer him more to get him to stay for a longer period.

Yeah christ, they are amazing. Our band does a cover of Overture 1928, great song, quite difficult though. I've not seen them live, but I'm hoping they are playing in the UK in the near future when I'm over. I've got the DVD of Live Scenes from New York, great concert (H)

Glad to hear it all worked out, Maichal! Keep the legend at the club :D

I hate it when something like this happens. I'm too sentimental on FM, If i've got a player I've brought up and hes really performed and then slumped, I'll price him out of the market just because of what I know he did for me
