I always wonder, what gives one man the right to take other man`s life ? What justify it ? Does God ( if you think there`s one ) allow anyone to take His role as judge, jury and executioner ? What makes one thinks himself is so pure and holly, that he can claim the role of God himself to punish the ones he considers as sinners to the death ?

punishment from Allah can come at any time and in any form. all the pain in the world are of no use ultimately should the individual himself is not truly repentant, ie taubat nasuha
likewise, who are we to say for certain that an individual who is truly remorseful and repentant, after taking his punishment during the course of his time on earth would be spared, or not, further punishment for his sins? isnt it ultimately between him/her and Allah swt?

surely muslims cant be totally absolved of all blame ? maybe a closer look at ourselves and the way we practise/or not, our own religion might shed some light upon which how others perceive us. maybe it is through our depth of understanding of our own religion or a lack of it, which arent helping matters in the least.

i concur, but i believe that practising it and knowing the justification for what we practise must go hand in hand. it is not sufficient to 'do' without the 'belief'. it would not be right if non muslims are able to point things out which they felt arent right and for our only line of defence to be that it is what we are told to believe in rather than something which we have actually come to embrace through the knowledge and rationalization that results in what we ultimately believe in.
isnt that what Islam is all about? a lifelong search for knowledge instead of just taking in what we are told without much or any thought to back it up with?
i will honestly say im only begining to understand the religion which i have been born into and for someone who is almost 25, im deeply ashamed of it.

I never set my mind on "Islam is cruel". Tough I`m an atheist, I also learn a bit of theology, and from what I learnt about Islam, or any other religion never tell people to kill another for whatever reason. I never understand the concept of killing other human beings is legal, while in fact that murder itself is considered to be a great sin in all religion . . . And what`s even more confusing that in Islam or any other religion, all of them believe that God will punish those who sins in the afterlife by puttin` them into hell, and if so, why do some inferior humans in this world think themself have the right to take the role of God in this mortal world by punishing to death their fellow humanbeings ? If you believe that there`s God, don`t you think that he has more authorization in punishing this so called sinners ? Isn`t compassion is one of the great teachings in Islam ? Being tolerant and being forgivefull ?
yup that is right, and its a damn good law too. I read somewhere that compared to the USA, crime in SA and Egypt and other places where they have atleast a tiny bit of islamic law, there is almost no crime at all, no rapes, no murder, no theft, it may seem barbaric to you guys, but is it so for the people who can go to sleep knowing that murderers, and rapists, and robbers will be met with amputation and death?
These punishments are a blessing for the people that are being punished. Muslims believe that when a murderer, or rapist, or anyone who does a crime, is punished with these islaic rules, then they are forgiven for their sins.
personally i dont think the west will ever understand Islam, they are two different things. A place where less is more will always see women who cover up as being "forced into it". Its not like they dont have the option to learn about it, they just don't, it happened with the immigrants, the chinese, the japs and the germans in WWII, even with Canada, Afghans and France. Simply put, and i know a lot of people will get mad, but most americans are ******* hicks....its as simple as that. They preach that america is the abode of freedom and tolerance, but how can it be when the majority will say,"oh for a second i thought you said you were from afganistan.". “I think there must be some restrictions on such acts because it is against our traditions of decency,” said Aisyah Hamid Baidlowi, head of a parliamentary committee drafting the bill.
Heavy kissing could carry a maximum penalty of five years in jail or a 250 million rupiah ($29,000) fine. Anyone caught flashing would face similar penalties.
The bill also proposes bans on public nudity, erotic dances and sex parties, with jail terms ranging from three to 10 years. Watching such a display could lead to two years behind bars.
Indonesians have long followed a moderate version of Islam, although an emphasis on Muslim practices and identification with Islamic traditions have grown stronger in recent years.
Public displays of affection are frowned upon by many, though prostitution is rampant in many parts of the archipelago.

Seriously my country ( Indonesia ) got the most hypocrite religious human beings in the world !!!!!! I live there and I know about our real nations morality. Islam tradition my ass !!!!! Most Indonesian muslims are a disgrace for Islam. They rape different ethnics and burn things for no ****in` reason. And not just Islam, I mean every ****in` religion here has the same low morality. On public the Islam and Christians leaders can smile and shake hands with each other, but behind it they taught every single one of us to hate those who are different from us. They preach about morality, about being a right man in front of God, but they rape underage children and exploit them, and they corrupt every single donation or funds. That ****in` retarded mentality is what keep us behind economically from our fellow Islam neighbour Malaysia. Sometimes I wonder what kind of Islam rule they apply there ? Ten years ago Malaysian richness was squat compared to us, but now Malaysia is probably one of the most respectful and prosperous country in the world, and we still stuck with our idiot hypocrite government who got nothing better to do than making a law on kissing . . .
