Crashes at Career

Youth Team
Guys ,

Here is my issue ,
I have done a clean install 06 , added the latest rosters , used CC06 and made some amends and changed a few attributes , added my favourite gameplay patch ( awesome work nk ) . Then i have began to start a new career , but when it gets to the region screen to pick a team the game crashes to windows, i also use the patch made so i can pick my favourite team. Does anyone have a solution to this issue? i have done this process over and over again , tweaking things as i go , like using FATBH Builder etc but still no joy.

Regards
Dog

There is alread a thread just below this one about career crashing, maybe is more useful to gather questions about this point in a single place :)

i cannot even get to play one match , where he can play 6 seasons.

I can't get past game two now :( I hear this is a great game. I hope I get to play it soon :)

Let me preface my next statement with; 1 I've been up all night trying to figure what's wrong, 2 when I edit (even use my own programs I've writen for...) NHL06 I have no issues what so ever. When I even try one of the "patches," "expansions," "CC's," or other items made here I get horrible results :( I just wish I knew if it was the game, some conflict between Fifadata, CEP, or one or the other.

That is because, in North America, Hockey, Basket and Baseball and rugby (american football) are way more popular than "soccer", even the word is wrong so I expect a North American gaming comany to never put as much effort in a game for a sport that is far from popular there.

Hold on a sec. Sure you're 100% right that football is not as popular in North America as in most of Europe but to say that, that is the reason the gaming community (online/worldwide) is able to sustain patches that do not harm the career mode of a game, I have to say just sounds far fetched to me. Doesn't it to you? I mean the internet is world wide. Many of the people I edit NHL06 with are from Sweden, Germany, and yes, Italy. Actually one from Turin -Sorry, I love Maldini but my heart lies with Juve :)

and by the by, football is growing in popularity very fast here. There are now several leagues that sustain pretty good teams. The MLS is growing at a decent rate, but it's still a very young league. Most of the major football leagues have had many decades, some over a century, to take footholds while the MLS has only had 10 years. Some stadiums sell out and others draw great crowds. Here in Denver we have really great crowds at Colorado games. We also are having a new football specific stadium build outside Denver common opening next year for our team. Hey it's a start. Especially when you have one of the most successful hockey teams in NHL history in the backyard to compete with.

P.S. - You don't need to use soccer for me. I only know it by football :) The NFL (american football) makes no sense to me.

EDIT: Oh and a good showing from the US national side in the World Cup (say qualification from their group) will go a long, long way to bringing popularity to football in the US and North America. And I do think we're going to see one. If you've been paying attention to them since the "defeat" (yeah I say it like that... "defeat") to Germany *cough cough HAND BALL* then you've seen some incredible football. Not the likes of Brazil obviously, but they can hang in there with many teams now. And with a high number of players based in European leagues and a strong MLS giving constant gameplay to the others, the US squad is very strong right now. I just hope everyone gives them no respect like usual, overlooks them like usual, and then simply gets shocked like usual

The US national team has always been very good these last two decades and I like to watch them play, there's no doubt, but the great majority of Americans I read on the forums are supporting European teams, in a way that's a bit beyond me, as the MLS has some great stadiums and great teams but they seem far from filled.

Milan didn't have a walk in the park when playing Chicago Fire in the pre-season this year. So the quality of the teams is undenyable. Unfortunately there's not much shown of the MLS here in Europe, on my countries channels nothing even, just a short statement like "LA became MLS champions this year, period." We get to see the superbowl though and the basketball playoffs, this reinforces the vision of football not being popular in the States and Canada.

EA being a Canadian company puts it's priorities in the most popular american sports, as the USA are their biggest market, I've seen the ingame editors of NHL and NBA and such an editor should have been integrated from the start into the Fifa series also, that would save the people wanting to make their game better a lot of trouble (most of the fifa patches made by fans are sadly not compatible between each other)

If football gets more popular in the US, then we will eventualy see a real ingame fifa editor that is worth that name :)
