It's no big deal actually. Before someone asks, in Rio de Janeiro they pronounce the middle and final s like sh.

EDIT: I guess some places in the north and portions of the northeast of Brazil they pronounce it this way too, not sure tho'.

oh...i thought 'F' sounds the same as 'V'

Actually in spanish the sound of v is close to the sound of b, in some places there's no difference in the pronounce.

If I'm not mistaken, in german the sound of v is close to the sound of f. Not sure.

A last note about brazilian r pronounce. It's about the middle r:

if it's before a,e,i,o,u: sounds like in spanish
before any other letter, 3 ways to pronounce it (already mentioned)

Therefore, Romário is pronounced Homário, but Rio is pronounced Hio.

In Brazil there are 2 ways you can pronounce an initial r, 3 ways to pronounce middle and final r, depends on the region.

The most common way to pronounce the initial r is:
Ronaldo, Ronaldinho = Honaldo, Honaldiño

Middle and final r here in the south and in a portion of the southeast you can pronounce like in spanish (mostly) or english:
Roberto Carlos = Hoberto Carlos

In another portion of the southeast, in the midwest, north and northeast you pronounce it like h too:

I went to Croatia last summer and everybody I asked pronounced it like that.
The "æ" in Solskjær is pronounced like e in step - "Soul´sker".
What really bothers me is how the english say Hreiðarsson (Charlton). It's not "Ride´arson" but "Hraith´ar´son"
Also, I think Charisteas is pronounced "Haristeas".
