Good victory for Vélez, they are slowly stepping forward to the next round, also a very important victory seeing they won over the defending champion, also the last world champions. To me a surprising score, because at best i thought that Vélez would only win by 1 goal.
Santos FC(BRA) vs. Gimnasia LP(ARG) 3-0
No surprises here, probably Gimnasia better forget about the cup this year, and worry only on the league.
About to start: LDU Quito(ECU) vs. River Plate(ARG), should be an entertaining match.

How weird almost all the teams did it but not the champion, i think the last case of this was Once Caldas but besides that i don't remember any other Libertadores where such happened.

Internacional beat Nacional 1-0 at the Beira Rio but were eliminated on goal difference.
Inter fans should have saved all the fireworks they lit in front of Nacional's hotel the night before the game to celebrate the achievement of being the first defending champion to be eliminated in the first round.
Carreño's style still hasn't convinced me, but the team seems to be slowly adapting to it. Making the round of 16 in the Libertadores isn't enough to justify the poor standing in the league though.
As for Defensor, I was surprised at their performance in the tournament, though they were drawn into what has arguably turned out to be the weakest group in the Cup. Overall, I feel they deserved it more than Gimnasia.
