With all of the bugs and mishaps in Fifa 2004, it really makes me wonder. Surely, when testing the game, the developers must have recognized these faults? And if so, why not produce a patch to fix these “bugs?”
Because they added the bugs on purpose.
No mud on the away team’s jerseys, replay glitches, repetitive commentary, etc. Perhaps EA did not produce the game as well as they could have. Why? To hype up Fifa 2005, and make that one even better.
Think about it, if they made Fifa 2004 near perfect, and included all the details as mentioned on this board before, what would people look for in Fifa 2005? If official patches were produced to make Fifa 2004 better, why would one get the next version? But if the game had faults, and EA promised a much better and revamped game in the following year, I think anyone who remotely enjoyed the previous Fifa games would be in the line (Sound familiar?)
Improving slight details from the previous version, adding on new features but not making them mistake-free, the works. Perhaps it is all a ploy by EA Sports to make the customer purchase the game again and again and again, with it never being “perfect.”
Don’t get me wrong, I love EA Sports (have madden, nba live, etc.) and queued up and got Fifa 2004 the day it came out. I have every version since Fifa 97, but who knows what EA are really up to?
Maybe they are purposely leaving out some details, to hype up the next version…
And then again, maybe not.
