who are those two players, Aveirense?
Gonna be honest when I say I have no idea. All I know is that Silvano is Paraguian, and Ivan is Argentine. And they're both attacking players. I didn't know who Zemen was last year but he ended up being a great player for us last season, so I'm hoping these two are no exceptions.

Milan announce Stam is a done deal

MILAN, May 16 (Reuters) - Lazio's Dutch international defender Jaap Stam is to join Italian champions AC Milan, Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani said on Sunday.

'Stam will sign for Milan tomorrow. On Monday it will be official,' Galliani told Italy's Sky Sport.

The former Manchester United player has been linked with a move to Milan for several months since Lazio said they would be forced to sell him before he entered the final year of his contract.

Galliani gave no details but Stam's agent recently said a two-year contract had been agreed.

Stam made his name in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven before moving to Manchester United in 1998 where he helped the club win the European Cup a year later.

A strong central defender, who has also operated at right-back for Lazio, Stam moved to the Rome club in August 2001 following a reported dispute with United manager Alex Ferguson.

Stam will team up with his former Lazio team mate Alessandro Nesta in what looks set to be a formidable back-line with captain Paolo Maldini and Brazil captain Cafu.

Milan recently signed French midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo from Olympique Lyon and Galliani said no other deals were planned.

'We have a squad that won the Champions League last season and has just won the 'scudetto' and I think we are fine as we are,' said Galliani, who effectively runs the club on behalf of owner, Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi.

Bruce: Heskey will be ours
sportinglife.com

Birmingham manager Steve Bruce expects to seal the signing of Liverpool striker Emile Heskey within the next 48 hours.

Heskey has been lined up for a £3.5million move to St Andrews after joining Liverpool for £11million from Leicester in March 2000.

It has been reported the fee could rise to £6million depending on appearances and Birmingham's success.

Bruce has already secured Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell on another 12-month loan and sees Heskey as the perfect foil to the Finn.

He said: "Hopefully we will be able to make Emile a Birmingham player within the next two days."

Heskey has scored 60 goals in 228 appearances for the Reds but with Djibril Cisse set to arrive from Auxerre in the summer, only a move away from Anfield will guarantee first-team football.
