what do you guys do to get ready for a new season? i did practically nothing, and now that there's tryouts we're having 2 a days. Morning is all conditioning (which i hate) afternoon is conditioning/ACTUAL PLAYING (which we should do more of) but i was wondering what you guys do to prepare for the season. maybe some pointers?? :D

In my school's conditioning we went for 3 days on this hill where we did sprints, ran miles, dribble up and down the hill and many more things all done on a hillside. And the rest of the conditioning we did on our stadium like regular sprints, running up the stairs, and a lot more. I think the coach got us in a pretty good shape.

yea. thats sort of what we're doing. not dribbling up hill though....................
it's not fun but i'll get into the best shape of my life :rolleyes:

well.....i select world-class level ,pick my squad and thrash arsenal around 20-0 and then feel happy.that's my workout.
and then go on the real ground and start tackling,tackling and tackling strikers.

At my school we run around the soccer field like 10 times, alternating between regular running, dribbling, running backwards, and running then leaning down and touching the ground... great, now I got to leave my laziness in a week and go back onto the field for the season, I'm happy but sorta pissed as well:mrpimp:

At my school... no, the coach is so stupid he doesn't do conditioning... we got on the first day of school and if your toe is stubbed your ****ing stuck.:crazyboy:

well basically running or games with the ball meant to build up stamina

and this for 4 weeks prior to the start of the season. with 2 or 3 friendlies during that time

firt day of tryouts...i thought i did pretty well. it was tough today and it'll only get worse :( i wish i had worked out over summer :rolleyes:

70 guys signed up......i think 50?? showed up. this morning's conditioning was killer :( halfway done though!!!!!1 :D :D

Run run run your asses off. Jog long distance, then run sprints with breaks in between. Then jog and sprint. (When you get in better shape try jogging about 200 meters then sprint 100 meters then jog 200 meters and sprint 100 meters etc.... for about a mile at a time.) This simulates what you will be doing in a game the most.;)

2nd day of tryouts: yesterday went well, i think today went better. the morning (conditioning) practice was killer though. Ran 4 miles, sprinted a mile uphill :kader: i played pretty well. had some good tackles and passes. some crappy shots. made a nice tackle on the best guy there :D :D tomorrow's the last day. i'm going to work my ass off..............:)

What times do you guys run the 100m. I run it in 13.6 which is alright considering im 14 and around 6ft and still growing but at the moment im recovering from Knee surgery i cant play any sport for 4 months

last time i was timed in the 100 was in 7th grade...so i was 12 or so. i ran a 13.2 :pi'm guessing now i could maybe do 11.5 or 12 :confused: i one of the faster guys there. this mornings session went well. my coach complimented me on one of my passes :) first compliment i've heard him give anyone in 2 1/2 days. this afternoon is the last tryout but i think i have a reasonable chance of making varsity! :D
