We all like music around here, so what's the best concert you ever attended, and how many concerts have you been to?
My girl-friend is trying to get me to go to the Skate and Surf Fest. but I'm not really into that ****ty pop-punk music. But then again, who can refuse a 3 hr. drive, with chicks and booze.....

I'm also thinking of seeing RHCP, but I heard they suck live.

The major concerts I have been to in the past year or so are

Rolling Stones
Black Crowes
Weezer,
Page-Plant
Bob Dylan

etc.....

Pink Floyd. Superb in concert. Supposed to be one of the best with all the lighting effects e.t.c. Never got the chance to see them though. Roger Waters is doing a tour next year though. :)

Difficult to say:

Could be Sabbath on the 10th Birthday tour with Van Halen supporting, or the Heaven'n'Hell tour with Dio on vocals.

Possibly Whitesnake with Moody, Marsden, Paice and Lord.

Lindisfarne were excellent, as were Carlos the Lad.
:rockman:

I was thinking about going to see the Monsters of Rock (W'snake + Gary Moore) but I can't justify the £32 tickets. :f***:

#1 Stunna

The Alpha Mexican
I've been to:

Jay-Z
Nelly (i went to see the Big Tymers)

And i'm planning on going to see:
Linkin Park (I'm going for Mudvayne)
Ozzfest

Gee, too much to mention! I've been to more than 80 shows in the past decade!!

Among the best gigs, I'd say:

- Pearl Jam; 1996. A celebration. The band had a fantastic 2 nights in Cascais, which included stage diving and climbing up to the ceiling from Eddie Vedder.

- Smashing Pumpkins; 1996. The Pumpkins said this was one of their top 5 performances ever. It was a happening. Period.

- Violent Femmes; 1997. It was their first gig in Portugal and we they had a packed crowd, dozens of alternative hits and a memorable night.

- James; 2001. Simply beautiful.

- Radiohead; 2002. Simply weird and genius. Another happening.

- Primitive Reason; any of the 10+ shows I've seen was great.

- The Tédio Boys; same as above. Wait, maybe the one when the guitarist stuck his guitar up his ass.

- Bloodhound Gang (believe it or not!) Too many **** happened on this one for me to tell it.

but also good shows from:

- Bush (believe it or not! PART II) Actually, I saw them on the same 24hours frame that I've seen my first Femmes show (have been to 5 others since). The femmes played at 2am, drove back to Porto, got some rest, and went to the Bush gig at 10pm!!!
- Goldfinger.
- Green Day.
- The Offspring.
- Pennywise.
- Less Than Jake.
- RHCP. To put it simple, they suck live. The exception is John Frusciante
- Zen.
- Stone Temple Pilots. Really great show this one was.
- Ornatos Violeta.
- Dropkick Murphys
- The Cult. First gig I ever went to
- Sweet Puppies. I've been to all of their shows! :O

Ok, who am I forgetting?

Well-known bands I have seen live:

U2 with BB King (Rattle and Hum Tour)
Poison :crazyboy:
Black Crowes
Guns n Roses
RHCP
Rage Against the Machine
Ice-T and Bodycount
Jeff Healy Band
Bob Dylan
Pink Floyd
Nick Cave
Janes Addiction
Porno for Pyros
AC/DC
Alice Cooper
Megadeth
Metallica
REM (with Crowded House supporting)
Grant Lee Buffalo
Soundgarden
The Cult
Radiohead
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
The Animals (for real)
Eric Clapton
Rolling Stones
Tomahawk (Mike Pattons new band)
Faith No More

I have also been to World Music festivals (African/ South American music etc.), as well as events like the Big Day Out where there are too many bands to name. Along with a large number of New Zealand bands as well. Plus these massive outdoor Symphony Orchestra performaces we have here (200,000 to 400,000 people attend) where things like the 1812 overture are played with real cannons and all.

Best concerts would be Nirvana, Grant Lee Buffalo, and WOMAD (World of Music Arts and Dance festival)

My favourite concerts were Tool, both times I saw them. Not only was it an aural experience, but a visual one as well.

Honourable mentions go to Rammstein, Mudvayne (in a sweaty little shed, this gig went clearly off) and The Haunted, who were superb in a small venue, support from 2 great Aussie metal bands and the Swedish thrash masters went off. It was a great night.

From those on your list that I haven't had the chance to see, I'd pick these 5. Especially Nirvana, of course. ;)

Nice lot you have there, btw.

Grant Lee Buffalo was also playing the REM concert, before Crowded House came on, but we were too late to see them. It was at a large outdoor arena.

The next night, Grant Lee played a one-off small venue and it was absolutely fantastic, every song off their first two albums, the show went on and on...it was great. And his voice came across really well live, which is where some bands fail.

Grant Lee Phillips, the singer, came here last year as well, to play a solo show at this tiny 100-seater bar that the lead singer from Crowded House, Neil Finn (he is like a music here in this country) owns, but I missed out on a ticket by 5 minutes.
