CL Semi-Final: FC Bayern München vs Real Madrid CF [P+R]

Bayern totally deserved the win. Their attack is phenomenal, it was just a matter of time until they scored the second one and I'm so glad Gomez did it. The return leg will be very interesting. Can't wait.

I don't think we were add good as Andrei says, but I'm thrilled with the win. Still would trade the second goal to wipe away Ozils.

Was Ronaldo injured? Throughout the game I was looking for an explanation to the fact the he seemingly wasn't giving a **** about the match. My theory is that he was carrying a mild injury so while he had to play because he's Ronaldo, they told him to take it easy.

Yeah, I was surprised too how carefree Ronaldo took the game. But even with him moping around he still pretty much made Ozil's goal.

Really? He didn't do much, but Lahm is a very smart defender. The guy still got an assist and put me into cardiac arrest with every touch.

Nah I don't mean only when he got the ball (although I also mean that, because he didn't really seem to get his runs going, plus that miss just before the goal wasn't exactly typifying of a guy who has 40+ goals in the league this season), but throughout ALL the game he just seemed like his mind wasn't really there. Walking about like he didn't know where to be, standing still, etc.

I guess that's true, but Robben wasn't as active as I hoped he would be either. I think top players are a little hesitant to roam and take chances in games like this than against mid table teams in the league.

For the record, I love what Ronaldo has been doing this season scoring goals, and I texted a friend that I thought Bayern's chances to advance were 40%. I'd probably say its 50/50 after today.

Hahahaha, oh come on, Pepe grabbed his shirt! (H)

A little bit of diving from Robbery today, but that's just what you expect from them. It's not like Ronaldo wasn't doing the same thing.

haha, Sports Illustrated

"Mesut Oezil passing to Karim Benzema, who found Ronaldo again and the Real star passed across the goal for Oezil to score from two meters (yards) out."

A meter is not a yard, and is meter really so confusing you have to explain what it is?

Perfect result for neutrals hoping for a good second leg........ a lot of people are saying 2-1 is a minor advantage to Bayern, but I disagree, I always think getting an away goal and only being beaten by one is an advantage to the away side.

Well, if you consider Madrid go out if they lose or draw, and advance only with a win, it is a disadvantage. 2-1 is easier than 1-0, but not as good as 1-1. Obviously.

Indeed, but I think ideally in a home and away match the team that plays at home first should be looking to make the away side need to score at least twice in the return leg.

I also hate it that both the spanish sides are playing the second leg at home, I know it is not rigged to give the best possible chance of an El Classico final but it really, really feels like it!

Neuer is one of the few keepers in the world who will have FM style "super keeper" performances. God I hope he does in Madrid.
