because our players are skilled enough to get the ball without fouling other people.

and our players are skilled enough to actually maintain possession as opposed to attacking and scoring from break aways.

yeah grabbing by the collar, shirt, pants is what Chelsea do best still that second goal shoulda been disallowed and you'd be singing a different song.

OleSpain, i knew that comment was potentially explosive, and i should have taken it down. Im sorry if it rubbed you the wrong way, because you, and the other barca fans, were extremely respectful. You have nothing to be shameful of, as your side is one of the three best in the world, and has the potential to be a dynasty with its youth. Of course I would have been just as pissed, if not more so, had we lost. However, you could see from the outset how, in our stadium, things were much rougher, and Collina was letting it go. That was the set tempo of the game, and while I think its better to play that style, its a matter of prefernce. No matter how much we disagree, the whole world saw tonight the resiliance of both teams (barca coming back from being crushed so early, and chelsea fighting back when you looked to be dominating) the blinding skill of Ronaldinho and the pace of the attack he leads, and the tactical genius of Mourinho and the strengh of Chelseas team spirit. Its not like we won the CL here tonight, but it was a great game, with great players. Because of my affiliation, i thought it had a great finish, but of course, had terry notput that header in, i wouldve thought differently here too.

Long story short, good game to barca, you played brilliant and your fans are classy to the end (well, at least to non-Real Madrid folks ;) )

Mother of god, when Deco blasted that last freekick toward goal, my heart nearly came to a stop. The whole 2 hours was what I imagine a speed high must be like: racing pulse, shortness of breath, paranoia, and extreme jumpiness.

But at the end of the day, advancing in the Champs league was not as important as taking Barca by the collar and demanding their respect, and that of the spanish press. Mourinho may be arrogant, but god damn if he isnt sly like a fox while doing it. He wants respect, the team wants respect, and I think on the worlds biggest stage, Chelsea FC earned it. If Dinho and Rijkaard were really going after the refs (personally, i think it was something else) they have got the same lesson of gracious losing to do that Jose has yet to stomach. Maybe they could carpool to the classes
:D

Very succinctly put, sweet. Now can you quickly turn on your webcam, take some pics, and show us some blurry frame shots of your tits and penis, please, purrrrrty please?

Quick, while your parents are out.........

How stupid of me!

Barca should have been awarded a bonus goal just for keeping possession

Hahahah, meant to be a joke, but eerily close to reality: Im at home for break, and I recently got a digital cam that doubles as a webcam.
Oh, and for the pics, check your PMs:crazyboy:

OK then i respect this view alot more and it seem objective. At first, despite my disappointment and anger i was willing to give Collina the benefit of the doubt but after hearing some different reports i have to say im not so sure now if its true the linesman and Collina punked out after seeing the foul then i think its really ****ed up . Still i dont take anything away from Chelsea though i think we coulda easily gone thru and rightfully so. Still it was a great match to watch.

Btw the press that slated Chelsea after the first match were right to do so because they played nothing like today and it coulda been a bigger spectale had they done so

A match of this magnitude is never going to be without the acompanying controversy. But I agree: if Collina saw a foul by Carvalho on Valdes, and did nothing as a matter of balance or some crap, then yah, thats completely wrong. I thought perhaps the penalty on Paulo Ferraria was somewhat dodgy, but he seemed so sure calling it, that i felt like he was somewhat self assured in his judgements. My only issue with fairness is perhaps cole got away with a bit too many warnings without a card, and perhaps Eto'o shouldve gotten the yellow when he upended Duff.

In regards to the press, with the war of words, there was bound to be some slandering, because of the war of words. But there is no doubt that you probably should have gone through given the amount of time you dominated both matches.

Pfffffff, what a game... I think I died at least a couple of times during this one...

F*ck, I can't believe how BIG mistakes we made in defense. Credit to Chelsea to finish em off and get the 3 goals on the board. Then I rose out of my grave with that beautiful goal of Ronaldinho. That's why he's best of the world.

Then the 4th goal. I honestly believe it was an obstruction on Valdes. It shouldn't have been allowed. And I died again. But refs make errors, that's part of the game so I accept it..

I hoped for Barça's third, but it never came...

Anyway, it's not Chelsea's 4th goal that was decisive for Barça to lose. We have to blame ourselves. We just made too many errors in the first half and Chelsea should've never scored the first three goals.

It's a shame this was only a 1/8-final. It should've been the final itself because these two teams are definately the best in the world right now.

And Rijkaard and Dinho being angry after the match? Nah I don't think so. I just saw A LOT of stewards going to Ronaldinho after the final whissle. It seemed like they wanted his shirt or his signature or something like that. Now I understand Ronaldinho that his mind wasn't focussed on that after such a match, so I can't blame him for being upset at that moment...

I saw an interview with Rijkaard where he expressed his opinion about the game (dutch tv). He was very calm and relaxed, basically blaming themselves for making the errors and not finishing the chances. So I don't think he was pissed off at collina or something...

Oh well, I guess we must go after la liga now...

I enjoyed the game, though it was a bit too emotional for me. :crazyboy: If I were a couple of years oulder I would've had a heart-attack :crazyboy:

Congrats to Chelsea!

Well i just got back from the Bridge....and i gotta say that this was one of the greatest games i have ever had the honour of watching.Say what you like abot how unfair this was and how unfair that was,at the end of the day it was a well played and well officiated game. This just shows what a huge difference a sane unbiased capable ref can make.Sure i was upset by a few decisions as are some Barca fans ,but it swung both ways, especially after what we had to put up with in the first leg. This was a thriller....3-0 up in 20 minutes......then Barca score 2 away goals ....the second one a masterpiece, completely taking the piss out of Carvalho(i think....I have to see the highlights yet.).Mind you from where i was sitting it looked like a Barca player was offside when Ronaldiho kicked the ball...(at cechs left side).....definately distracted Cech....anyway ,alls well that ends well....we won....we deserved to win.....nothing to do with luck ..this game was won by the team that wanted it more and tonight that was us.I said to people ...do not judge us by that s.h.i.t.e game at the camp nou...we had our reasons for playing that way and at Stamford Bridge on tuesday you will see the real Chelsea.I am so happy that i was not made to eat those words.
In defence of Barca.....they played some wonderful football and it was a night to remember. Not just because we won but because i saw Barcelona play at Stamford Bridge and they were so slick at times........they need 4 new defenders though....that is their weakness.....oh and a better goalkeeper.......but thanks for a great game Barca.......I respect you.....and i hope you now respect us..............i wish this could have been the final .....it deserved to be..............:D

I was reading all the posts before i posted mine....damn funny to read all the stuff being posted as the game went on.........but do i really come across as such a looney......damn i better calm down a bit if thats the impression i give....heheheheee.....from now on i will be a perfect gentleman.......;) :D
