Mourinho: "We beat the best team in the world"
José Mourinho believes his players "beat the best team in the world" and admitted that the game was in the balance right till the final whistle.
The controversial Chelsea boss couldn't hide his celebrations when Collina blew the final whistle and he ran on to the pitch to congratulate his players and in the post match press conference he claimed: "I enjoyed this game more than any other important matches I've been involved in. I've won finals before, but I've never felt like I do today".
Mourinho went on: "Barca turned the game round in five minutes and both teams had chances that didn't go in there just wasn't time to blink. If they'd got a goal in the last minute, then they'd have gone through, it was a really exciting game. We could have scored 6 or 7 goals and they could have scored more too, but in the end it's what goes in that counts".
Praise for Barca
Mourinho praised Barca, reminding the media: "I was four years at the club and they were very important times in my life. My daughter was born in Barcelona. I've nothing against them personally; I just wanted to beat them tonight. I hope they go on to win the Spanish League and I think if they'd gone through this tie, they'd have gone on to win the Champions League. We beat what is the best team in the world right now".
Ambitious
The win hasn't stifled Mourinho's ambition and he insisted: "if we'd not won this game, we'd only have the League to play for and we want more.
