CL phase 2 problems

hi fellas,
My friend, (yes he does not use the forum) seems to have a very funny problem.
He's in his 3rd season as Man U manager but after phase 1 in CL Phase 2 is a KNOCKOUT stage

funny aint it Even his 2nd season had the same prob.
He installed EP3 after 2nd season but of course to no avail.

So any one got solutions

not a bug...it's the new CL format
the format of the UEFA Champions League will change as from the 2003/04 season. the second group stage has been abolished under the new format

yeah. Almost all the big clubs last year voted to change the system. This way APPARENTLY it should draw in bigger crowds. We shall have to wait and see...

i thought the big clubs were against it (less games this way )

but the reason is that players will have a lower workload, less fatigue etc .

The clubs wanted to change the 2nd phase because their players couldn't play so many games in just one season. They are human you know....

ah yeah, that was the reason - less games. The big clubs are all for it though.

Top team players were playing 50-60 games per season. A few years back this number was much lower. I think it's better now with less games...

exactly, just play a season on CM97/98 and then CM4.
