On paper Roma have one of the best defences in the league.
But the game is played on grass :read:
On Chivu, I'm sort of happy that we didn't get him since he's so injury prone, but if he can actually stay healthy he is just so great.
Now you mention it, I'm happy we sold him at the right time.

LOL :D

Maldini is one maybe two years from retire, but i don't see why he should get him, Now that we have Coloccini i don't see the necesity of chivu in our team. Unless they want to look for the replacement of Costacurta as well.

Won't prevent them from still being sh*tty.

you must understand though....getting players back from injury will help the team improve...especially getting KEY players back like him...so it will prevent them from being ****ty, it will make them less ****ty..just so u know.

2 years ago he was the best defender in Europe. Milan and Real wanted to buy him. I never understood why he went to Roma.

Milan already bought Maldini's successor a few years ago.

Alessandro Nesta.

Now Milan just need another quality defender to partner Nesta.

Coloccini was supposed to be promising. Lets just see how it turns out.

with guidance from Maldini, Nesta, Stam, Cafu......i see Coloccini turning out to be one of the next great defenders

In an interview a few days ago Chivu denied the rumours saying that he is staying at Roma and fight for a CL spot this season but his ultimate goal is to win the Serie A (duh).

Chivu was such a brilliant player when he played for Ajax it was a pleasure to see him play now it seems like he gets injured everytime he puts his shoes on, how fast a player can change :(.

Why would you need Chivu when you've got Stam and Nesta? :|

Our defense together with Cafú and Pancaro playing probably has 150+ years if you add up the age of every player. If you put Stam, alongside Dida, Cafu, Maldini and Nesta, it's even more. I mean, when players retire, they're going to mass retire (a lot of player will end up retiring in the same season i think). So we better have some good backup instead of running riots looking for defenders in the future.

i agree, if that happens teams would put higher price on their defenders, knwoing that Milan need those defenders, better do it right now, plus they can get something from great players like Cafu and Maldini

Your mistake was in buying Stam in the first place. The guy already retired from the NT, it won't be long before he retires all together. I'd give him another two years, three tops.

Who's idea was it to buy Stam? Berlusconi?
