Chivas of Mexico to buy and MLS team

Just read of Soccernet.com that Chivas of the Mexican soccer league were in talks with the MLS to purchase a franchise in the U.S. . It also goes on to say that America is also interested. I already knew about this... though I hope that they do get the team going for next season to spice things up in the MLS....

As long as they don't call the team "Chivas USA" and have to follow the internationals rule, I'm all for it.

Yeah this could be real big for both the Mexican league and the MLS, imagine the two coming together and choosing the best teams of both the Mexican 1st division and the MLS and creating a league out of that with the rest of the teams being in a 2nd division

but i'm all for a new franchise, whether or not chivas buys one or not.

I know they prolly wouldn't combine both leagues but I think they both could benefit (prolly the MLS more so cause the Mexican league already has a wide fan base here in the states and of course in Mexico), It would prolly be better if they had a Champion's league for North American and Central American club teams, because they already have the Copa de Libertadores for South America.

and they also should be forced to have the team language be English, and if they will sign players of all races....I'm all for it.

Why the hell would they do that? They don't make foreign players learn English to play in the EPL. Let them speak Swahili, if they want to.

Well it was news to me I'm sorry that I don't scour the internet for every article of soccer news so I can be the champion of reporting everything when it's first announced but I didn't see a previous post of it so I felt it was important enough to post.

If he had read the article he would have know that it said that the MLS would not allow them to have an all Mexican team and that they would have to follow the same rules in regards to international players as the rest of the teams. The whole thing about learning english is absurd and so i won't address such an ignorant assertion

Im sure Fifa would have something to say about this.from a personal point of view id be pretty pissed off if a mexican team is allowed to play in the usa. franchise or otherwise.Celtic and Rangers want to join the epl but have been told that this is immpossible.it would be serious double standards if the mexican team can play in the us

it wouldnt be a Mexican team in MLS, but a new MLS franchise owned by the same guy who owns Chivas.

I'm not saying the players should have to learn English, I am saying that the team's official language should be English. Chivas wants to break MLS rules by having the team language be Spanish.

Basically, what I am saying is that if they want to have a Chivas team in the MLS, they should follow MLS rules. Right now, they want to get in and not have to follow them, which is complete bull****.

I won't hate as long as they have the same rules as everyone else. I think having the team will be good for MLS because it will attract a lot more fans to the league. I just don't want Chivas to be allowed to have more Internationals than other teams, etc., because it just isn't fair to the other teams.
