Hi, i love PES, but there's something that is starting to get on my nerves.
Who else finds himself with nothing better to do than to chip the ball in a one on one with the goalkeeper?
I'm starting to get a FIFA feeling in this situation, which is BADDD.
Don't get me wrong, i try to play different styles, i like to go down the wings, cross and header (which is not so difficult as some people seem to complain in here. They got used to score some 8 out of 10 from crosses in PES3, and now they complain that down the wing and scoring from a cross in PES4 is difficult.. well, its not, its way more realistic, got to use R2 alot, it helps).
Anyway, back to my problem, in a one on one situation with the goalkeeper, i find myself inevitably chipping the ball ( L1 + [] ), which seems a little scripted (FIFA). And the times i dont chip it, its more 'cause i don't want to get that feeling of repeating a clone goal over and over again, rather than having a better solution for scoring. Dribling the keeper is god too, ok. But in real football in similiar situations, shotting is prefered than chipping... players chip the ball in rare situations... but in PES4 it feels safe to try the chip... it gets easy. I lost count how many goals i have scored exactly the same like this.
Ok, now people are going to teel me to NOT Chip it, to pretend that it doesnt exist or something like that, but that is wrong.. 'cause that is what i used to do back when i lived in the darkness (playing FIFA). Everytime i knew that certain type of play would get a scripted goal, i'd try something diferent.
Anyway, i just don't wanna have that feeling in PES.

99% has to be a goal if i use R1....it's getting boring.....too easy to score...... better play with friend rather than with CPU

This is getting ridiculous...the amount of whingers in this forum.

No game is perfect, and we don't really want to hear how you feel you have beaten the game by chipping and what not.

I have a feeling people are really focusing on the 1% ers in terms of negative aspects of the game.

As I have said before...dont play it if you feel its not what you deserve out of a soccer game...it's a simple concept.

The game is great, and I am not sure what level you are playing on or what team you use but in my eyes this game always gives the player a challenge against the CPU and the fact that your playing the CPU means that players are always going to find weaknesses in the gameplay of the CPU.

Please stop you usless whinging in this forum, which is fast loosing it's credability because of these whinging posts...

Maybe the Forum Admin should open a new Topic under 'Usless Whinging' :)

See my point: you try to pretend a game is perfect and bang comes the next installement and it has flaws. What happens? People get hugely disappointed and they complain.

That's bad expectations management.
Therefore it's good to criticize because when most of these annoyance will be corrected in PES5, people will cheer up...

Well, I kind of agree with "thisempty". The game is great, but there are some (and more than I hoped there'd be) issues. And it's not simply whining, I think it's a pretty serious problem. I, too, have the feeling that everytime I see a keeper storming at me I simply have to chip it.

I play on 6 stars and have managed to win easily this way with a mediocre team like FC Groningen against far better clubs.

But I have another problem, something far more hilarious. On 6 stars, I have scored plenty of goals simply because the CPU goalkeeper delivers the ball straight to my striker. Empty goal, thank you very much. This happens about once in every 3 matches. Does anyone else have this problem?

It seems you wanna prove you love PES and the "whingers" don't?
I love PES, and i don't complain about the CPU cheating, just play 3 or 4 stars if you don't wanna notice the cheating so much. Playing 6 stars against a NO HUMAN BRAIN has to have its ways of keeping it hard for us, the A in AI says it all, the CPU can never beat a great human player with just the AI.

Anyway, i love PES, and if i can't talk about what i like and dislike in the game in the foruns, where the f*ck should i?
The chipping problem is evident! And if Konami has someone reading the fans foruns, it can only be good to let them see the complains, so they try to change things that should be changed.

So, let us discuss things like that, there's nothing wrong with it, in fact i bet most of the whingers here love the game as much as you do. Problably more, seeing that they want the game to be even better, and you don't.

It is easy to score form a chip. If you know how to do it right with a particular player you could do it everytime. The problem is doing it right. I've missed a few lobs with Ronaldo and he has 99% accuracy.

Here's how I'll explain it to everyone.

What are your options when alone with the keeper? Chip, shoot, or dribble around. Those are the same options you have in real life.

If your going to chip him, you have to waint until he gets close enough and dives for the ball. You have to make sure you aim and add the right amount of power.

To go around the keeper you have to fake a shot to make him dive and then go round and tap it in.

If your going to shoot a regular shot, you have to do it before he gets too close. The closer he gets, the smaller your angle becomes and it increases his chances of blocking your shot.

Unless I'm crazy, these situations are pretty realistic. These same rules apply to the game.

My point is that if your player(and you) are good enough, you can do whatever you want when alone with the keeper. As long as you do it right, it'll work everytime. Like in real life. I'm sure if the keeper caught every lob, you would be complaining about that too.

The most I've seen is two. In my games.
I play 10 minutes / 6*. I don't lob in every game. I get one or two 1 on 1 chances per game and normally I just slide a low shot past the keeper. It's my preferred shot.

Are you playing on 6*? How many minutes?

So in your world one on one situations are supposed to be difficult, eh?

In my world the striker wins 90% of one on one situations. How he puts it in the back of the net is up to him. I doubt you'll understand.
