Chelsea are playing more and more of the Portueges style. And what I mean by that is look at some of the tackles they threw today! In a few weeks we'll be seeing the elbows going around.

do you guys think Robben will be in the starting lineup all season if he doesnt get injured because they have alot of good midfielders?

Robben is proven talent, and I'm sure Mourinho will have no problem calling him up to the first team every time he thinks necessary unless the player is too fatigued.

Since when is portuguese style elbowing and such. You may say that's Porto style but that happened like once in the CL last year and it was that pig LB Nuno Valente. Our football is much less physical than english anyway.

I am sure Robben will be pretty regular, I think at the moment it is assumed by everyone that he will, and Duff will have to prove himself if he's to take that position back.

i think top 10
Depends, by reserves do you actually mean the reserve team (Oliviera, Ambrosio, Anis etc) or the first team players then never get played (Macho, Babayaro etc)?

I on the other hand think cisse will be a great player hes quick, hes young and he can score goals as he did last season

Drogba have a better service than Cisse.

Drogba - Robben, Lampard, Duff/Geremi.
Cisse - Kewell, Aye who plays Left Midfielder, Att Midfielder for Liverpool?

Geremi had a good game against Roma.

That's true, Gerrard is probably the only midfielder who plays well at Liverpool atm. Kewell should be great, but isnt. Just shows what talent David O'Leary had, Kewell, Viduka, Keane, Bowyer, Woodgate etc played really well under him, and have been pretty crap since they went to other clubs or he left. Keane and Woodgate are OK I suppose, but Bowyer and Kewell were great at Leeds but have been total flops since they moved.

Yea ur right ,, Kewell Should be a lot bettet than he is playing at the moment,, and wat he played last season. But u guys should see alot from him this year i would think. I will be very annoyed if he plays a **** season because he has taken so much time off the Australian squad and you would think by now he has had a good rest and all injuries should be gone now. But expect a big season from kewell this season :rockman: ;)

Benitez could get him working. I'm not sure whether Kewell only plays badly for Liverpool, or whether he only played well for Leeds. Same with Diouf, did he just happen to play well for Senegal and is actually crap, or does he play like that all the time except at Liverpool? What I'm driving at here is does Liverpool, or did Houllier, cause players to play badly?

I'm sorry, but you have to be honest and admit that you can immediately recognize Portugal playing because they play much more harshly and don't let the other team play.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing.

I repeat that's Mourinho style not portuguese style. I wish all the portuguese coaches were like him though.

Yeah , all(most) portuguese coaches have big bellys and moustaches :mrpimp:

And some of them are seriously and frequently drunk in the bench :hump:

Wtf do you even know what is portuguese football? So, just because Fc Porto made a couple of more aggressive matches, now all they do is elbow and push ppl? How did you come up with that conclusion? Did you see Fc Porto vs Manchester United? Did you see how Porto owned Lyon, Marseille and Monaco? Did you ever see Benfica play? Or Sporting? These clubs have always produced some of the best players in technical terms. They might not be the best in terms of work rate and sometimes competitive mentality, but some of best european technical football comes from Portugal. And what about our Nt? Altough we might not have the best of the "curriculum" in terms of tournaments won, we always put up some of the best football. We are the only european team alongside Holland and Spain who has some of that "south american" flair that everyone likes to enjoy.
Its beyond my compreehension how you can judge the whole portuguese football by some less "fluid" in technical terms Fc Porto matches.

For the past 50 years Portugal has played this way. Not only Porto. It is probably less now

I said nothing about it being less "fluid" or whatever. What do you have to be ashamed of when portugal made it to the finals?

50 years?? Portugal of today doesn't play like we did even 10 years ago. If anything, we played a lot more attractive football in the 80's and earlier, only it was usually much less effective. Physical play was almost unheard of for us until players like Fernando Couto started emerging..
