Don't get too excited, the FA don't have the balls.

Its the Premier League that will decide Man U's fate and not the FA. Saying that though, they will probably bottle it anyway.

Now I understand why West Ham controversially got a fine instead of the points deduction, for breaking the same rule as Man U. It was in readiness for this case, because if Man U do recieve a points deduction, they will be able to whinge about West Ham only getting fined. Maybe the Premier League will now be able to say that to make things fair, Man U will only getthe same punishment as West Ham.

Oh I'm not getting excited over this at all Help. It's just nice that the mancs have this hanging over them for a few days until the decisions about punishment have been made. Although a points deduction would be just lovely.:mexican:

Nothing story. It's not interesting. Whether there was a clause or not, it's Everton's choice to pick him - if a manager can't leave players out without the PL questioning him, then football has truely gone mad.

How the bloody hell do you sell a player outside of the transfer window, AND get the paperwork ACCEPTED by the Premier League anyway?

Let's not forget, this story originally came from NoTW, so take it with a pinch of salt :funny:

This will all be forgotten when United will be crowned champions tonight anyway.

According to the Premier League report, a statement by Moyes states that, Moyes was asked by Ferguson NOT to play Howard and in return Man U would forgo any further monies that should come their way concerning the Howard transfer. Having a third party deciding who plays for a certain team is contravening the same rule that West Ham broke according to the premier League, and that 3rd party was Man U.

The Howard deal was signed sealed and delivered by the time Everton played Man U so any clauses or agreements that were previously outstanding would be null and void.

The NOTW got the story from the Premier League's website. It originated there and it seems the Premier League are taking it pretty seriously even if the mancs are trying to fob it all off as a nothing.

Crowned champions or not, Man U can still have the title taken away. It wouldn't be the first time this has happened in football. Although as I said before, the PL probably do not have the bottle to really punish their blue eyed boys over something like this.

IF United do get points deducted, surely it won't be enough to put Chelsea 1st in the league. Maybe a 3 point deduction. But they won't deduct points, just a fine.

Clear. End of it.

I've never heard such pathetic excuses. "thats why west ham were only fined". Christ thats just plain stupid, just something to hide behind rather than admit that over the course of the season, you've been second best. Sore losers. Dont come back with stupid claims that the premierleague bend the rules for United, because thats old hat. Had Ferguson come out with the comments about new rules about penalties, he would have been written to and fined.

I don't see why anyone can fine or even deduct points from United. It's the FA and League's own fault for not enforcing rules so if they fine anyone, they should fine themselves.

It only happens against Chelsea. So why it keeps happening we keep winning the league and proving our way of playing and building a team actually works better..Ciao

They've been cleared now and Ferguson is talking of three big signings for next season but not much yet from Mourinho. The problem with uncertainty around your manager going into the summer is that the club can't really make much movement in the transfer market. Are there any guys who have already been signed or are coming on a Bosman?

There is no uncertainty concerning Jose. He is at the Bridge until 2010. Also the season aint over yet so why start player hunting at this early date. The media will speculate as usual about us but when Jose says someone is coming to Chelsea, then thats the time that I will believe it and not until then.

Just wanted to reply to a post in the United thread, I posted it there, but I thought I'd share it here as well - so you can appreciate the class he showed.
Fans of our clubs are rivals obviously, but like I say I thought this deserved a proper reply.

Now the hysteria has died down a little somewhat, and the "fan boys" have ceased wetting themselves over their first ever United title, I just wanna say bloody well done to Man U. To Fergie, the players and the fans, congratulations.

It was a great title battle this season. I for one enjoyed once again, all the nailbiting and tension that a fierce title fight brings. I missed it for sure, but at the same time I could certainly do without it.

You can look at all the +'s and the -'s that affected both our clubs, as the season wore on as much as you like. At the end of the day Man U won the league and thats what history will show, and thats as it should be.

Worthy winners indeed fellas(Y)

After all the nonsensical rubbish one is forced to read on here, it's very refreshing to find a well put intelligent comment such as this. Accepting defeat is a key part of being a football fan, and I know some new Chelsea fans (the minority - i.e most kids/glory hunters) will be tasting defeat for the first time. Also Man Utd has still a lot of "gloryhunting fans" though I believe they are in the small minority - especially in this thread, those of us who are true football fans and true fans of our clubs will have all tasted both sides of things. Both our clubs have endured periods of trophy drought, only to rise from the ashes.

Since the "glory days" of the 1990's - 2003, Manchester United has never gone more than one season without the League title, however prior to that, it was 26 years of drought. I'm not old enough to have experienced the full period, (I started supporting United in 1984)
Yet I understood and felt at least some of the emotion when Bryan Robson and Steve Bruce held that trophy aloft in 1993.

So this time is a big deal for me, having seen United fall behind the "Invincible" Arsenal and the "Russian Revolution" it's a sense of jubilation to finally call my team "Champions" again, and I'm sure I speak for the majority of United fans when I say this.

Sorry for the lecture, but I felt your comment deserved a decent reply.

A very nice and "in a nutshell" post there Mikey. Thanks for the response to my post too. I appreciate it mate.(Y)

I suppose that like me, when you have tasted the highs and the lows over the years, although not winning the League was a little dissapointing for me, it has been far and away overshadowed by the elation I still have from winning the thing twice in a row.

I suppose the newbie Chelsea fans will find this hard to take but for me, its just part of the game. Someone wins and someone loses.

Have a good summer Mikey 'cos next season we are taking it back man:mexican:

What're you talking about? Us fans have had the misfortune of seeing our club getting knocked out of the CL two years in a row by the team that went on to win the tournament and possibly a 3rd time this year. Losing that FA Cup game against Jongleurs FC with half the squad getting injured or carded in the 2nd half was tough to watch plus all the time with and prior to Ranieri?

I think that this article which dissects our current squad is a good read:http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6635141.stm

hahaha zlo you old dog. i think i am more proud of this team in defeat than i was when they won the title the spirit and togetherness they showed in tough times was unbelievable, reading most English people criticizing Chelsea's game and style of football is a damn shame Chelsea raised the level of football in England, before we had United and Arsenal the 2 big dogs in England but when Chelsea came along and won 2 seasons in a row the other teams especially United knew they needed to raise their game if they wanted to regain the title and they have done that very well. probably the reason EPL is the best league right now is because of improvement in the level of football and one of the closest and most competitive title races in recent years.
