Once in a while every year, this thread always turns into a Man U or Portugal or Barcelona thread. Take your fight somewhere else.

Oh and to listen to Chelsea streming games online, check some of the BBC Radio links. Also, search soccer audio usa and I think there's this one site which has some links. Also, there are some paid services which are really cheap and let you actually watch the game (with audio) on the computer. European sports usually aren't big into streaming audio and radio, it's just an American thing so I think you'll be hard pressed to find a link. Let us know if you find anything though. I'm getting more and more homework/studying and the Chelsea games aren't always on the tele so it'd be helpful if I could listen to them while doing my work.

Help?

I guess i shouldn't be adding more to this, but it is the exact same story at United thread, so you can't complain much.

Im sick of the arguing, so ill apologise for any offensive comment I made to Vinnie or anyone else. Its just the arrogance of some peoples comments such as "Chelsea WILL win the title! Since Man Utd will drop points!" annoyed me, and I reacted. Fair enough Ronaldo is arguably Portugals best player, and Portugal fans have every right to like him despite their attitude towards Man Utd.

Back to other news, Graham Poll has been dropped for the Man Utd Chelsea game.

It's understandable. I doubt he'd be able to referee fairly and with a clear head if he keeps thinking that Mourinho will accuse him of something. Although if what Ashley Cole says is true about his yellow card, then I'm with Mourinho on the charges, the Terry send off I still can't see any sense in.

But I respect that being a referee the FA givem him a certain amount of power, and they do that reason, so I'm getting kinda disappointed that after every match I hear Mourinho complaining. He's a great manager, but this is getting ridiculous, and Chelsea will never get the respect they deserve this way.

Poll has always been a prick and he will always be a prick. This is not just about the Chelsea / spurs game, or the McFadden sending off. This idiot has an ego that needs cutting down to size. Fans all over England do not sing " Graham Poll....He's a fu<kin' arsehole" for nothing. I dont believe he has a vendetta against any particular club, but he sure has a vendetta against certain high profile players. He has always liked to be the reason why a team loses or wins. Any fan from any club will tell you that.

How long has he been a <unt?.......this long.....

April 21 2000

Everton 0 Liverpool 0

With the scores at 0-0, Poll blows the full-time whistle as Sander Westerveld's free-kick rebounds off Don Hutchison into the Liverpool net. "As the goalkeeper kicked the ball I blew for time but in the confusion, in the noise, no one heard the whistle," said Poll. "He opted for the easy way out," said Everton's Walter Smith.

August 21 2000

Arsenal 2 - 0 Liverpool

Sends off Gary McAllister, Dietmar Hamann and Patrick Vieira at Highbury. McAllister's card is later rescinded. "We are very unlucky with Mr Poll , I have never won with him," said the Liverpool manager, Gérard Houllier. "As soon as we know we have got Mr Poll , the players know what is going to happen."

September 1 2001

Slovenia 2 - 1 Russia

Awards a last-minute penalty to Slovenia in a crucial World Cup qualifying match. "Referee Poll acted like a big-time bandit," says Russia's Sport-Express newspaper.

December 18 2001

Arsenal 1 - 3 Newcastle

Awards Newcastle an 86th-minute penalty, and sends off Ray Parlour (plus Craig Bellamy). Arsenal complain to the FA.

June 8 2002

Italy 1 - 2 Croatia

Italy have two goals disallowed in their World Cup group-stage defeat. "These weren't even first division or second division, they were from the village," said Christian Vieri of the decisions. Poll was not retained for the final stages of the competition.

April 13 2003

Arsenal 1 - 0 Sheffield United

Poll collides with a United player in the build-up to Arsenal's goal in the FA Cup semi-final. The referee was Arsenal's "best midfielder" says manager Neil Warnock after his Sheffield United side lost.

January 25 2006

Manchester Utd 2 - 1 Blackburn

Fails to award Rovers a penalty in the Carling Cup semi-final second leg when Rio Ferdinand handles the ball. "Mr Poll thought 61,000 people had come to see him," says Blackburn's manager, Mark Hughes.

June 22 2006

Croatia 2 - 2 Australia

A nightmare World Cup performance comes to a head when Poll sends off Croatia's Josep Simunic, but only after issuing him a third yellow card.

November 5 2006

Tottenham 2 - 1 Chelsea

Sends off John Terry, the first time in his career the defender has been dismissed. Terry claims Poll changed his mind about the reason for his sending-off.

November 8 2006

Everton 0 - 1 Arsenal

Dismisses James McFadden after 19 minutes for foul and abusive language, taking his season's tally to 66 yellow and three red cards. McFadden denies calling Poll a cheat.

66 yellow cards and 3 reds and he has only refereed 11 games in the Premiership. The man has lost the plot entirely. Anyway at 43 years old, its about time he was retired.

I never said Poll was a good ref, but I respect any ref's authority. I later laugh at their idiocy or praise their decisions, but I don't find complaining, as a fan, about a ref to be much use. It's kind of an easy way out when a club loses. For example, Barcelona-Chelsea, I live in Spain, 90% of people were supporting Barca, when talking to them about Chelsea's win and draw, they come up with the same response 'stupid ref'. It's annoying that in most cases (since unfortunately most football fans I know are idiots) when your team loses it's a case of a penalty not awared, goal disallowed, goal from offside not annuled, etc.

I dunno where I'm going with this.

I really hate those smiling faces on referee's. Certain ref's themselves have become celeb's and they're becoming more than the game at times.

Poll's definetey considered a moron around the world and he really is. I don't think that you can give a referee the benefit of the doubt when he makes so many stupid decisions.

To make mistakes is human and I think we all understand that. Making mistakes is not the problem with Poll. The things he does, he does for a reason and on purpose. He has actively and conciously influenced so many games in his career that I've lost count. He is scheming and devious and he regularly lies to save face. Many managers over the years have accused him of being untruthful to defend the things he does. Up to now the FA have always backed him all the way, and that protection has caused him to become out of control.

The FA have refused to investigate his claims that Chelsea players intimidated him during the Spurs game deciding that there was not a case to answer. Now at last, the FA are beggining to see what a complete prick this guy is. This is the first time that the FA have not investigated an incident mentioned in one of Poll's match reports and Poll is taking it pretty badly, accusing the FA of undermining his authority. I hope they are at last, fed up with the constant controversy that Poll seems to produce every time he referee's a game. Domestic or International.

UEFA have dropped him already as have FIFA, so why should the fans of the EPL clubs have to suffer him any longer. He is a head case.

Anyway enough of that dickhead.......

Great game today at the Bridge. 4-0 FT. A hat trick by Didi and that makes him top striker in the EPL now. He is playing with so much confidence and flair and Sheva is proving to be a fantastic partner for him.

Sheva also scored today and the goal was class. Definately a goal from the classic Sheva goals album. Beautiful.

A great team effort all round and the four goals helps to bridge the goal gap between us and Man U.

Oh and not to mention that Geremi actually played good for once although I'm dissapointed that he started over Bhoularouz. Anyways, all Chelsea need to do now to clinch the Premiership now is to beat Man Untd in the first fixture and then get maybe at least a draw in the next fixture against them and we'll remain champions. We gotta play West Ham and then finally get to beat United, can't wait for the win.

Yeah, Geremi played a blinder today. He just about did everything right. Carvalho was immense as well and had a fantastic game. Ballack and Lampard have finally gelled too and looked like they had been playing together for years. Ashley Cole also had a very good game. I dont think anyone had a bad game today.

With both full backs overlapping and attacking down the wings, the "narrow" midfield looked formidable and very capable. At last it looks as if every player knows where he has to be in this formation. Very nice to watch it working so smoothly.

You've gotta remember though that Watford gave them the room to do whatever to be in position. It was almost that classic case of shock and awe for Watford so we weren't gonna have any problems.

Zakov

Senior Squad
Yeah, i don't think we were really tested especially on the right-back and left-back positions....against Spurs, Lennon and Keane really tormented Cole, Paulo and Khalid.....so we'll have to wait and see if Geremi can really do well against the bigger teams....Cole is already good enough but he just doesn't seem as intense and sharp as he was at Arsenal, prolly needs more time and i'd like to see Bridgey play once in a while.......but thats up to Jose........

There's an article on soccernet.com criticizing Ballack's performance saying that he's past his best while praising Drogba. It was a review of the Watford game (an Insider artcle).

Ballack past his best? I could've told you that half a year ago. He's an average player with great heading skills. Highest paid player in the EPL haha.

Zakov

Senior Squad
Already saw that article.....To be honest i think Ballack isn't playing at his best but he wasn't the worst player on that day....Typical of the media to criticize a Chelsea player everytime they give credit to another Chelsea player....A year ago it was Didi, at the start of the season it was Sheva, now Ballack........

They don't want to make it seem like any team is perfect or something. I watched the Blackburn-Utd. match and the commentator downplayed Carrick as not worth the money despite him playing well, after he praised Scholes. Kind of stupid, there were players he could've criticised, but he chose Carrick, strange.

I just read that Chelsea won C.Palace 3-1 in a training match. Sheva played, which I found surprising but quite helpful. He definitely needs a wee bit more playing time, and hopefuly scoring would've notched his form a bit, frankly, if he can score an average of a goal per game from now on, I think that'd be quite a nice figure.... just did the math, and yeah, it would be.

I also saw that Ben Sahar, the 17-year-old israeli striker of the reserves partnered with Sheva and scored two, I really hope to see him playing a match or two for the first team, anyone else got a reserve they'd like to see develop into a first-team Chelsea worthy player? Sahar is my first choice if only one could get a spot, but there might be more I can't remember.

BTW, anyone seen him play? Has he got potential?
