He lavished praise on him at the same time though. Was basically a check I see it as you don't want Joe to get over confident as he did try some flicks and other things today that resulted in him losing the ball. Look, Jose just wants Joe to beat his man and not try and humiliate him, just get the job done and do the simple things right.

Joe has responded in a positive fashion in the past and im sure if JM thought he wasn’t up for the criticism through the media, he wouldn’t have done it.

I strongly disagree with that way of thinking. Some players are gifted like that. I am pretty sure Joe wouldn't be the same player if he stops humiliating opponents. Thats the way he is. He flicks defenders for a living. If he is not allowed to do so i think he will not even be happy. And a player who looses his will to play is not productive as well.

It's like telling Ronaldhino to stop making Real look like it's a Terzera Division team :D. It's just ain't going to happen.

Joe Cole is Joe Cole and Jose should be happy to have him. Deep down i'm sure he is, he just has to show he is the boss, but i;m sure he is the one most enjoying Cole in his prime.

I admire Mourinho and all(thanks to him I'm unbeatable in FM, thanks Jose!) but I think he's being real anal about this. His perfectionism is going way too far here. I mean come on, he's out if he does it again? Banned for 4 days? If Sir Alex made Cristiano Ronaldo stamp out his dribbling completely, then Ronaldo wouldn't be half the player he is. If Henry is told to stop making defences look foolish, then Arsenal would suffer and the league would be that much less entertaining.

I understand he gave the ball away a lot of times, but he was also heavily involved in the goals scored, so give him a break. I could understand if he had a horrible game and the team was losing 1-0 or something..

Damn.

Wait, is he going permanently or on loan? I assume it's permanent, but there's a shade of doubt (and hope) in me.

I wanted him at Old Trafford.

Did you watch the Birmingham game? He tried to humilate someone, it cost us a goal, you cannot do that against the best sides, so why do it against Birmingham?

It is constructive cricitism as far as I see it.

As posted by someone on another forum and I will quote

Joe responded the last time Jose came out and spoke about him in public and to be honest it really wasn't criticism, he just wants Joe to continue to be a team player and not get too far above himself. He lavished praise onto Joe at the same time.

Joe has done everything possible to get into the team, I'm sure he won't want to be on the sidelines again and will realise what needs to be done to give Jose and the team everything possible to continue our great run. To be honest, in 99% of the games we see Joe play, he does play for the team.

Supposevely, its a loan 'till the end of the month, and an option to buy him for $5 million euros.

I gotta admire Mourinho. He sent out Essien to get a yellow card to ensure he miss an FA Cup tie instead of risk missing a Premier League tie in the future.

HAHA !!!!! Essien finally got a taste of his own medicine. How long will he be out ? Anything broken ? I wish him the best. It's rare to find a guy with a beasty mentality on the pitch, good passing skills but a tender guy outside the pitch. I don't want the WC to lose one of it's best performer.

That Fletcher guy from West Ham tried so hard to get into Lampard's head, but dude got owned in the end.

what happen to essien? nasty tackle on him?
Reo Coker lunged his shoe's stud around his ankle or shin area. I only saw that clip, I don't know wheter there's a broken bone or how bad is the injury. But judging from that tackle, he gonna miss the Africa Cup for sure.

He felt his hamstring twinge. It shouldn't be serious, but Jose took him off because the soggy pitch was pulling on it.Cant take the risks with Didier going away this week. He'll be alright, fingers crossed.

No news yet, should be fine.

Hoping so, he is starting to come into his own at Chelsea because the man is class. With Essien out and Drogba gone, watch this ... watch him and Gudjohnsen, Eidur from the midfield spotting Crespos runs, its going to be a huge avenue for goals.
