JT?

Although, I don't give a toss how other fans think of him generally I think the way he's treated has always been harsher than other players who committed the same mistakes or even worse.

On the field, he's always respected even after his reputation took a dive in the last two years or so. I'm sure any team would want a player of his ability and leadership in their team, I know I'm glad that we do.

What is actually your take on Terry? I've only been reading negative articles and statements about him that he undermines managers and is generally disruptive for the club. I don't actually rate most of the concerned columnists and am too biased to give a fair opinion, so what do you guys say?

That says it all really. If you want a fair take on him, read what his peers and footballing managers have to say about him. The press clearly have their own agenda when it comes to JT.

Benfica in the Quarters and should we go through, either Barcelona or Milan. Benfica are manageable, but they have done well to get this far. APOEL or Marseille would've been better, but this is probably as good as it gets beyond those 2.

If we do go through, I'm not optimistic about our chances. Then again, we nearly pulled it off with Hiddink. We can always dream.

I'm not gonna be quite so whole-hearted in my defence of him. One of the all time great defenders, yes. One of the all time great captains, yes. An inspiration to fans and players alike, yes.

But I do believe he gets a bit carried away with his own natural leadership at times. I DO believe he undermines managers, you could even see it in the Napoli game when he was shouting instructions from behind RDM when he came off and before that when he fielded all the questions in the joing press conference), I DO believe he is resistant to change (sometimes a good thing as some change is too quick and not good, but may in the end be counterproductive) and I DO believe he sometimes carries too much weight in the squad to allow for objective tactical and selection decisions.

Dont get me wrong, I love him, he is a hero, we owe him so much, but it is not ENTIRELY positive, and I do fear that as he ages further, the negatives may grow in significance.

If we can maintain this burst of form, I would make us favourites against Benfica, especially as we have the away leg first. Semi's is nothing to be ashamed of considering how this season has gone, and I must say I am relishing a crack at Barcelona!

Like I said, conerning the articles, most columnists aren't worth reading anyway.
I always liked him for England, but my judgement has somewhat been clouded by recent events.

Sorry mate, but the way I saw it, Luiz was injured and at the time I thought he gestured or asked or whatever to be subbed off, and Robbie couldn't do anything since he already used all 3 subs(noticed the hand gesture JT made).

Maybe miscommunication(language or whatever) there between Luiz and the coaching staff, but I thought JT was just trying helping by screaming at Luiz( or the others to tell him) to carry on and not get off the pitch. Plus, Di Matteo was standing in front of JT, and it wasn't like JT jumped in front of Di Matteo and took over.

But as usual, the highlights never show the events that precedes these moments, so anybody looking at them will have a different idea.

Didn't see it. Great to hear Torres scored twice, but shame about conceding twice too.

Hope this marks a turn-around in Torres' Chelsea career.

2 goals, 2 assists - Fernando is back (H)

Nice to put five past them, shame our defence let in two, but still a good result. Keeps the momentum going for City on Wednesday.

No shame in letting goals considering how Leicester played. They really took the game to us and credit to them, kept plugging away.

The first goal could've been avoided in the build-up, I believe it was Essien that had a lapse of concentration. Nothing any keeper could do about the 2nd goal, that was top draw.

All in all, great performance from Torres, Sturridge on the other hand, dear oh dear, he really needs to stop thinking about himself and make better decisions on the ball. Great celebration by Cahill though.

Now the rest of the team has improved around him, Sturridge doesnt quite look the gun he did at the beginning of the season. Still a great potential talent, but I fear he is not gonna be the immediate world class star I half hoped he would be!

Both Torres goals were "soft" though. Any EPL keepers would've kept these out. Anyway, he needs to keep scoring to stay alive.

Yeah, they were easy goals which didnt really matter or affect the course of the game against Championship opposition...... but it doesnt matter at least the ****er proved he does know how to find the back of the net!!

Is it me or Ivanovic just chickened out of the match? Three or four awful interventions and he starts saying he's injured...

Nah, I think he did his thigh in with that shoddy cross early on.

Sex machine Cahill with 2 in 2. Torres looking awesome, let's go Chelsea, 30 minutes (with Tevez on the pitch) and if we do this I have total faith that we can secure 4th.

And the commentator made a great point about the Torres inclusion (which is justified anyway by his performance). Dropping him, after he scored 2 against Leicester, for a big match, especially with some more big matches for Drogs to feature in quite soon, would've been a psychological hit.

RDM is impressing me.

EDIT: ****.

EDIT: Double ****.
