Middlesborough win, ending Arsenal's premier league unbeaten run. This will mean a lot for us, their confidence has been decreased and we need to get up and match that and beath the Gunners.

Well we managed 2 goals yesterday without Drog so we should be ok.

Just watching the 'boro V Arsenal game. Eboue intentionally PUNCHES a 'boro player in the face and the referee does NOTHING.

This was much worse than the Essien incident against Derby, but Essien got a red card. Disgraceful.

'Boro 1 nil up at the moment. Come on 'Boro.
Sure we will continue to score goals mate, I'm just concerned that we won't be able to cope when we loose some very important players to AFC.

Well, Boro won against Arsenal and Reading beat Liverpool......... who'd expect that? But great result for both us and Utd, now we just need Utd to lose......
I always remembered at times where Arsenal were on winning a streak but when they start getting bad, they stay bad for a couple of matches until they pick themselves up again.....lets hope thats the case for this season.........
and it all started since Gallas sported that ugly mohawk....

yeh, the other defenders can just blame gallas when wenger asks where were ya.

i get the feeling that those more than occasional/not often enough to be called sometime 0-0 results/'dour' games like the Valencia one will stick with chelsea though no matter how good they are at whatever time. dun matter really though, as long as you can get to the next round without anyone hurt then who gives a ****.

Coming into last nights game, we were already top of the group, with nothing to play for but pride. As long as Valencia didn't beat us at the Bridge, which they couldn't, then last nights game went exactly to plan.

Avram said days before the game how unimportant it was, and with the Arsenal game on the horizon, its obvious where his priorities would lay.

As you say, only an idiot would have risked the players by insisting on a battle to the death with Valencia last night and Avram isn't an idiot. I think most sensible managers would have done the same.

Also to be honest, very few of our games are "dour" as you put it. It all depends on the tactics of the other team whether a match is dour or not. If trying to break down an 11 man Sunderland defence for 93 minutes turns out to be dour for some people, then maybe those people should appreciate and understand the reasons WHY a game like that for instance, might be hard work to watch, for the nutural fan. In that case their problem lies with Sunderland and not Chelsea.

Personally I don't give a crap what anyone might think about Chelsea anyhow. I'm sure most fans feel the same about their own team too.

Like any team, you need to watch them week in and week out to really be able to have definitive opinion. It's no good people forming any conclusions after watching one incredibly meaningless game, and then remembering (selective memory needed here ), a couple of other uninspiring performances during the season.

Most teams has its share of great days, good days, mediocre days and bad days, during a season. When you look at the top 4 teams in the EPL, no one team can lay claim to the boast that THEY are the only team who entertain and at the same time, win in every game they play.

During a season we all have difficult games, easy games, boring games and "dour" games. The percentage swing is probably very similar from team to team too.

If I formed an opinion about Man U, based on the worst three games I have seen them play this season, then I would come to the conclusion that they are crap. They are indeed NOT crap as we know, so that tells me that a little more research, (with an open and nutural mind of course), would be needed on my part to form a more accurate opinion.

Or, I could just go into the Man U thread like a muppet and say, " Oi, I watched you lose the Bolton game last night, so in my opinion, Man U are a boring, crap team of losers."

That would show only two things though. One would be the fact that I am obviously a muppet, and secondly that I do not think very deeply when it comes to football. (And probably every other subject too). Both options would be spot on.

Chelsea are there for the chelsea fans, and if some other people don't like what they see, then don't watch them. Simple.

I'm sure most fans feel the same about their own team too.

Wow, Valencia are on such a bad form at the moment. I keep remembering the Mastella game last year. Oh, the memories.

yah, well behind Madrid too, may not even qualify for European football next season. its a rule in spain, one good team has to be crap every season (except deportivo who've now permanently established themselves as crap and are in a relegation battle).

and they lost villa too in the blues match, i prefer them to barca but seeing Rosenborg in the uefa cup instead o them's a good laugh.

hey guys, ive got two bets on the football this weekend, Chelsea to beat Arsenal, and Chelsea to be winning at HT and FT.

are these realistic? The odds were favouring the arse but were great for betting. What is Chelsea's situation at the moment in terms or injuries and everything? Surely too good for Arsenal now? (i hope)

Of course we're gonna win. In terms of injuries, Drogba will not be playing, and i'm sure that cesc fabregas isnt either. Lamps, Kalou, Cole, and Shevy can get the job done. Arsenal just lost their last game (Middlesborough) and whenever their unbeaten streak ends, they don't bounce back up immediatley, especially against a defense-minded Chelsea team.

i wouldn't be too sure, i'd say i'tll be a tight match....
then again, i'm supporting my team and of course we're capable of winning but it'll interesting to see either Grant plays two up front or just Sheva as the lone striker....i'd think it will suit him more to play two up front with Joe Cole and Wright Philips supporting from the flanks.....Essien is suspended, so maybe Mikel and certainly Lampard.....Belletti and Ash Cole should get the nod to defend along side Terry and Alex(No Ben Haim pls!!).....Cudicini should start this game, since I don't think Cech's got enough games under his belt yet....

Fabrigas, Hleb and Flamini are still doubtful for Arsenal. Wenger will assess them on Saturday. Van Persie has NOT been given the all clear yet, but it is possible he could perhaps be a sub or at least start the match.

We have Carvalho and Malouda back:bouncy: Everyone apart from Ballack, Essien and Drogba are fit and available. Cech should be in goal, Belletti, Carvalho, Terry and A.Cole the back four. The midfield? Take your pick. Will Avram play Sheva on his own at the front, or put Pizarro out there with him. We wait in anticipation of both these strikers finding their scoring touch. Lets hope Sunday will be the game for that. We get plenty of goals from other players anyway so, we will be OK.

I wouldn't predict a game like this. Anything can (and probably will) happen. A dodgy ref decision here or there and either one of us could be fu<ked. It will definately be a tough battle for both teams though and pretty physical I would think. Lovely, just the way I like it.:)

I think we will show them how to play attractive football. No drogba , no essien and hleb , fab and van persie back for us = easy win for the arsenal , just like old times hey fellas.

Senior Squad
Confidence running high in the Arsenal camp? Dont think so. Don't think it'll be an open game since both teams are missing their most creative players. Cant wait!!!

Senior Squad
Carvalho's back?!! Great news for us but I reckon its a bit too much for him to step in straight away in such an important match.....I'd keep Alex with Terry...
I heard Arsenal's got Van Persie back but Wenger has said that he wouldn't risk him ....Anymore team news fellas?

In yer dreams mate. hahahahahahaha....You must be sh.i.tting yourself alreadyTracer.

Not this time my friend , you have no one to be scared of. SWP can't cross to save his life , Kalou only knows how to hit posts and Sheva is far too old and slow. Maybe fat fwank will get you a lucky deflection though .
