CEP 2.0 Officially Released

The CEP 2.0 has been released since yesterday to give you the widest soccer experience on the Fifa games, be sure to check the readme during the installation and the FAQs after it: an important hotfix for field dimensions is available too on the Downloads page, while you can find some mirrors servers on CEP forums. This is the last version for Fifa 2006, updating the original leagues in the game to the 2006/07 season. These are the features of the CEP version 2.0:

Some useful FAQs:

INTRO1. In CEP I can only play with crappy teams! I don't wanna do it!
Just rename the config.orig file in your fifa directory to config.dat, if you want revert to realist settings rename config.cep to config.dat.

INTRO2. The field size are wrong!
Install the hotfix available here: http://files.filefront.com/CEP201hotfixzip/;5498344;;/fileinfo.html
It's just 2kb, maybe less. If you plan to use another gameplay, just download and apply the Gameplay Revert Patch from the Downloads page.

INTRO3. I want to use another gameplay
Download and apply the Gameplay Rever Patch first, be sure to run fatbhbuilder.exe at the end. Career.ini settings of other gameplays have not been tested with CEP 2.0.

A. My game crashes, why?
Be sure to:

1. Have installed CEP following the installation procedure shown in Downloads section of CEP homepage (EA official patch included).
2. Have executed fatbhbuilder.exe as is in the default installer at the end of installation process.
3. Don't have modified in any way the CEP content: if you modify any file of fifa after CEP installation the proper working of the CEP is not sure, and no support can be given on this (modifications done with CC breaks CEP).

B. Is Creation Center compatible with CEP? Can I modify the CEP with CC? Will be one day CEP compatible with CC?
No. Don't ask about this: the CC is NOT compatible with CEP, if you do any modifications to CEP database with CC the game will surely hang, sooner or later.

C. I don't have editing skills, but I'd like to partecipate in CEP development: how can I collaborate?
You can submit with simple txt files updates and changes in rosters at [email protected]; or you can compile information for the team you'd like to see in CEP downloading the roster in excel from CEP homepage and adding the informations needed: send the xls to the above mail and I'll try to add the team to CEP elaborating the data. Is very appreciated the submitting of entire leagues and divisions. Segnalating bugs and small details to be improved is very welcome too: use the CEP forums to segnalate.

D. I have editing skills and I'd like to join the CEP project
You are welcome: we try to gather the best talents of the fifa scene and to develop the new talents: contact me through mail or on these forums and I'll take your contribution in consideration for sure.

E. Can I modify the CEP and redistribute my modifications?
Absolutely not: CEP is propriety of Sweetpatch homesite and is protected against duplication, redistribution and unauthorized modifications.

F. I can't save my profile with CEP!
Be sure to have installed the CEP as shown in CEP downloads page in CEP homepage.

G. Kits are shown gray in game!
You have a 32 or 16 mb video card, that is a very old model: upgrade to 64mb to play with CEP, otherwise you'll not be able to see the new kits and there's nothing that can be done about this.

H. Kits are shown in red and green with "Missing Textures" message!
Be sure to have executed fatbhbuilder.exe inside your data directory of Fifa (installer should do it for you). If the problem persists segnalate the team with the missing kit on CEP forums.

I. Could you OckHAM explain me how edit fifa database, do my own modifications and custom addons?
No, I can't: please don't ask about it.

L. What will next version of CEP feature? When will next version of CEP be released?

M. The Champions League and the UEFA Cup have not the real original structure: 3rd classified from the first round of CL don't go to Uefa Cup and so there is a round less in UEFA Cup Final Stage, why? There are some Albanian/Azerbajian and other minor leagues teams missing in preliminary stages too.
Seems that there are problems for Fifa when you link two new tournaments each other crossing the classification between one and other: cases of duplicated teams happen, in the original game too: this is why I changed a bit the structure of these two tournaments with no cross-classification between CL and Uefa Cup. Some minor leagues teams for the first preliminary stages are still missing and replaced by teams present in the game, I hope in the future to be able to add them too.

N. Why all the players in the game are retiring so late and have so long contracts?
To increase game stability. Better to have longer contracts and a more stable game.

Ehehe, all the flags of the CEP are by the excellent Vlada Cilokin, did you register just to write these ridiculous words? The only screen posted with a brazilian team is with Coritiba, and these are Vlada's flags for this second division brazilian team:

Just wanted to say the CEP V2 is a fantastic piece of work. Notwithstanding the petty squabbling over the real or imagined ownership of edited graphics,the patch represents what is truly "the best of FIFA 06" Perhaps if some of it's fiercest critics out there took the time to sit and contemplate the sheer scale of this endeavour, they might not be so quick to pick faults in it.

Question to EA Sports: Why the F**K don't you hand over the graphics design, roster detail and gameplay design to people who do these things considerably better than yourselves ? i.e the FIFA gaming community

I was before known as Cyprom, I've also made update, kits, flags for all the community. I was already working on FIFA when you were still playing with kids things! And also to add something, I've translated your patch into french some months ago dear Ockham, without even a thanks replied. And just in case of some of you think I was only there to criticize, let me inform you I helped and still help some of the biggest kitmaker to give them excellent quality logos and brands to put on their kits!

Here you can see the flags I've made, do you wanna see the original vector file I use to create this patch as well? So I ask once again, please remove the flags I've made from your patch, I retell again, if AT LEAST YOU ASKED FOR IT I'D NEVER TOLD YOU TO REMOVE THEM:

I've translated your patch into french some months ago dear Ockham, without even a thanks replied. Well that'd be a good way to show your fair. I don't see any angry, just felt threaten unfair IF you put my flags without allowance, if you didn't everything is OK for me, there's nothing personnal and I'm always glad to see some ideas emerging from FIFA Community even if I've never used any of them.

For the translation pack I sent it back to you personally on 30/01/2006 23:35 but you never replied me. I don't really care but it was unfair.

For the rest if you wish to use my flags in the future, there's nothing harder than asking my informations through Dave Witts and I'll surely give you allowance to use them in your patch and make it more realistic.

Ockham..for the first: i gotta say this is an enormous good patch..second: now that you have find a solution on the fifa-fat size-thing..does that mean that we (by ourself) can add alot more custom stuff to the game..like faces,balls,kits..etc..?

Nope As you can read technically on the CEP homepage on Sweetpatch the fifa.fat problem can be only partially resolved: practically there's no limit to the "statical" elements you can add with fsh (even if it's a bit complicated to do it): like logos and flags for example, BUT you can't add with no limit the graphical elements that are involved in the match engine: i.e. kits, faces, boots, balls: if you do it the game will be extremely choppy and slow and it will result almost unplayable. I'm waiting to see how EA structured the 2007 big files structure and engine to see if there will be or not this limitation.
