Captains

Alright, so I'm playing with FM 06, but that forum is deserted and the same applies. What stats should be considered in choosing a captain? I simply chose the captain the team currently has, and the captain they have when he comes off, but I thought that maybe there was a better captain in the guys I just bought. So, what should be considered?

Influence. That's all that's needed to determine a captain.

Wrong.

The first thing when choosing a captain is surely the influence. Still, there are other factors. A player with high mental attributes such as bravery, determination, decisions can be allied to the influence a better captain than only a boy with high influence but low mental attributes.

But yeah, the first thing to look at when choosing a captain is influence.

influence is the most important, but also you want your captain to have good determination, he's the example for your whole team. Decisions need to be good too

For other things, I like him to be experienced, playing in the center defense or center midfield. I also like him to play quite a few seasons at the club and preferably from that country, or at least know the language

It makes sense though. I'll have to check all those stats out. Qustion: Who would be a better captain, someone whose a first team regular, or someone who isn't but who has higher 'captaining stats'?

Wrong. I found out that influence is needed when choosing a captain from the hints and tips loading screen.
