Can't read CD in Windows Explorer

Hi guys,

I have a weird problem with Fifa 2005 Disc1. First of all, let me say that I was able to install the game without problems. When I put the Disc1 in my DVD drive (Pioneer DVR-107D), the autorun feature starts the installation procedure without issues.

However, if I try and browse Disc1 using either Windows Explorer or My Computer, both of these programs just hang. With regard to Disc2, there are no issues, and I am able to browse it without a problem.

Does anyone know if this issue has something to do with SafeDisc protection? Or could it be the fact that there is some compatability issue with my DVD recorder? Or the fact that I am running WinXP Home?

Funny thing is that, if I try browsing Disc1 from Nero, I can do it without issues. My other computer running WinXP Pro and LG 48x CD recorder has no issues either.

Could you please respond to this post and let me know if you are able or unable to browse your Fifa 2005 Disc1?

Thanks,

Boris

I've haven't tried it yet but is there a reason you want to? The copy protection on mine was on Disc 2 but if yours works on a different computer I would point at XP Home. Does it hang when you double click the disc in explorer as well as single click the disc when browsing the folders on the left side?

Does it hang if you try to search the disc? You could just rip the contents to your hard drive and not worry about it. Or try mounting it with Daemon tools after creating an iso of the disc.
