cant edit players

i need help guys.
first, when i edit a player in the game, but not change his name, just his age for example, the commentators wont say his name ever again. that really bugs me!
and worse, after i installed the patch, i cant edit the fifa db. for example i wanna add a player but when i do and i have the updated squadfile, the game just crashes.
and when i delete the updated squadfile and then choose "reset squads" after editing the db file they won't be the new ones, they'll still remain the not updated ones, but with my changes in the db. but i wanna play with updated roster AND my changes in the db.
please help me!

U got to use a db editor like Creation Master07 to edit player's.the ingame editor makes the player's loose there commentary name,i don't know why but thats what happens!
the other question i can't explain to you but i guess somone can reply with a answer!

yea with that tool i can edit the fifa.db right? but that crashes my game when i use the updated squad file. thats the bugger but thanks

Creation Master is not compatible with the patch, and once you've installed the patch and use the updated rosters then any change to FIFA.DB will cause problems. Basically you have two choices, you can either have the patched rosters and leave FIFA.DB untouched, or you can edit the unpatched version to your heart's content.

Because they listened to all the complaints last year about the updates invalidating people's careers, so this year they found a mechanism that didn't break existing careers. You have to bear in mind that the vast majority of FIFA players don't go anywhere near additional content, they just take what EA gives them, so they won't be bothered by not being able to fiddle with FIFA.DB et al.

If you prefer to see the updated squads in your career, then obviously you need to start a new career, but you can continue with an existing career and/or tournament if you so choose, and just use the new squads for pick up games, friendlies and tournaments. That is the benefit of the separate update file over and above modifying FIFA.DB and invalidating all existing careers and tournaments.

you will be best off by uninstalling the game, reinstalling, and NOT installing the patch. then edit the game with creation master 07. that is what i did and the game is much better.

yes but its quite a pain to do all the transfers on my own. and there were a lot players added.
what i did now, is installed uefa em patch, nk's football patch, and changed a few players of the fifa.db and added the one i needed. not perfect but enjoyable
