Nevermind has like 6 or 7 classic songs out of 12 and only one average in my opinion which is On a Plain.

If that's a decent album I look forward to hear what you consider to be a good one.

London Calling, Is This It, Definitely Maybe, (What's The Story) Morning Glory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars, The Bends, Ok Computer, Grace, Automatic For The People, Revolver, Disintegration, Forever Changes, Dark Side Of The Moon, Loveless, Beautiful Freak, any Doves album

They're grrrrrrrrrrreat!

except for the classical oldies albums you mention the rest doesn't really reach the status of Nevermind and only OK Computer comes close, although you have some great music in there.

If you don't like that kind of music it's ok, but please don't say it's just decent. I've grown tired of it over the years as well but it's still one of the greatest albums of all time.

I have as much respect for aerosmith as I do for creed (but that's for later).

Your respect for them doesn't change the mythical status they've reached in rock n roll history

(since the topic ran along new ways, "later" can be now)

(oh... and you're not one of those who thinks Aerosmith's carreer started with "the Armageddon song", are you? I don't think you are, but you are, we might as well finish the discussion :amika: )

haha mythical. do you realize how overused that title is? and it's great that you like steven tyler and his music, it's just really cheesy.

I really enjoyed the STPs and Pearl Jams of the world when I lived in the Northwest, but back in their heydey, I really didnt have much ability to discern what I liked from what was 'cool'. Consequently, I ended up professing to like alot of Nirvana songs, and with them whole acts who I now cant stand. Anyway, they still have great musical worth, even if some people tend to overrate them

By the way, once they get rid of that albatross Beltre and have their kids mature, the Mariners will be kings of the west once again. "Thats a guarantee you can tattoo on my ass"

recent albums have been pretty cheesy, yeah. except for Honkin' On Bobo that clearly proves that Joe Perry is one of the great blues rock guitarists of all time. but 70's albums like Toys In The Attic, Rocks and Permanet Vacation are ****in' brilliant. They changed rock n roll at the time, they brought a brand new attitude and sound to the genre. They're return with Pump and Get A Grip are quite kickass as well. The rest from the 90's and 00's kinda goes crap, but you can't expect a band who left all kinds of drugs and alcool for 20 years to still be able to rock out asskickin masterpieces...
