Flyer, Winnipeg is some lame ass farming town full of Native people who live on Indian reserves. -25 in Winter makes it an even bigger hell hole in the winter.

What good has come out of Canada? Hockey, and more importantly Gretzky who's our greatest athlete ever. Ranks up there with the best of all time(Below Ali though).

And you aussies with yer crocodile hunter shouldn't be taking shots at another country. That being your biggest export to America is funny.

French Canadians are retarded! Pierre Trudeau is french. Quebec leaving only causes problems for the economy and they're french canadians who want Quebec to be an independant country. You're trying to be a nuissance, not patriotic. French is a latin based language, just like english, german, spanish and Italian. They're preserving thier language because it's a part of thier heritage. Native people should be getting more respect, especially since europeans slowly stole North America from them. Some natives were hunt down for fun by some europeans. Europeans did some good and a lot of bad for aboriginal canadians.

Hockey, it's entertainment, nothing that special. The telephon is one thing that would be something goodthatcame out of Canada, although it was pattened in the US.

Quebec is NOT trying to preserve their god damn language, that's a lame excuse. The Bloq quebecois' goal was(and still is) to separate from Canada because they see themselves as having nothing in common with the rest of Canada and would be better off being an independant nation.

The economy would fall apart? Your kidding I hope, Toronto is the center for trade in this country, not Montreal, not anywhere else. Everything goes through Toronto. Vancouver is second after Toronto. Sure Montreal and Quebec city are home to trade, but not the extent a countries economy would crumble.

Quebec learnt their lesson with that massive ice storm that struck a few years ago. They were in the middle of crying to seperate and who was called in to clean up the mess? The canadian army(yes, there is one :P). A free cleanup and millions of dollars in compensation for the damage. I guess Canada was a lot more useful then they thought. I'm not interested in politics but I understand how things function in this part of the country. French Canadians aren't hated, but they aren't exactly well liked either.

I certainly don't agree with that, the fact that Winnipeg has a large Native population doesn't make it any more of a hole, and the fact that that Native reservations even exist is a failure of humanity and should be a shame on the rest of us. You were actually making total sense until that statement.

Again, it's my personal opinion. I won't show sympathy towards first nations. Sure, they gave up their land, but so has every native group on the Americas. Our first nations should be particularly grateful to the treatment they get. Not paying taxes on anything and free dental plans is more then adequate compensation when you consider that first nations in other countries get nothing but a kick in the ass.

Not to forget how many first nations own and operate multi million dollar casinos, ofcourse, they are TAX-FREE . Give me a break, many of them choose their own lifestyle, all of them could really be wealthy in this country given the exemptions they have.

Now we're getting a little too political but with politics it all boils down to personal opinion.

Certain tax exemptions (they're not exempt from all taxes, and I know this because my fiancee and other family members are Native Canadian) doesn't make up for what the government sponsored residential school system did to Native families here in Canada, even as recently as 30-40 years ago...if you don't know about this, then I suggest you inform yourself before you comment on it.

Those Casinos you're talking about aren't there so Natives can get wealthy, the majority of the money goes to fund housing and social programs MUCH needed on many reserves, and that fact that you think they should be thankful for the treatemnt they get in Canada is laughable. Try visiting the Walpole Is. reserve down by Windsor...some of the living conditions there look like something from a 3rd world country, and for this to happen in a wealthy country like Canada is inexcusable. Thankfully things are slowly improving thanks to those "tax-free" casinos. Free dental plans?...yeah, I suppose that is adequate compensation for having your culture and dignity stolen...

I know Natives in Latin American countries receive ever poorer treatemnt, but I don't live there so I can't make comparisons. I can only comment on my own country.

whatever though, like you said, it's your opinion...it's nice to be able to have one in this country.
