Can Everton win the EPL?

considering my deep and thoughtful analysis I have no choice but to predict 5th place... much will change from the current EPL table by the time it is the end

They will not be able to win the league, but i hope they can spend their money wisely and finish in the top four. I think they would have to pick up a goal scorer and one other player in the back

Remember 2 seasons ago where they were doing really well and finished 6?

Moyes is doing a great job and I think he can finish 4th by the end of it. They must hold on to Gravesen though

I don't think so , but again look at Greece and Porto no one expected them to win.

That's an in-apt analogy. In the CL and, especially, the EURO, you can win with a handful of lucky victories. To win a league you have to have a much more consistent run of form, over nearly 40 games and many months. Everton is in good form but form fades, at they don't have the roster depth to keep this up I don't think. UEFA, definitely. CL, possibly. Certainly, at the moment it isn't looking like anyone is fit to challenge them for that 4th CL spot.

no one is stopping Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd, and no true everton fan is thinking of winning the league. Getting a Champions League spot would be like winning the league for us. But are we better than Liverpool or Newcastle.......no is the answer. We haven't got the depth of squad, if we lose Gravesen, Carsley or Bent for a long period we will drop off quite quickly. We are playing as a team at the moment and as soon as you take one of those out we aren't the same. Whether we should strengthen in January.....i'm not too sure. You don't want to fix what isn't broken, yes we need depth but bringing in new players might upset the team spirit. Look at Newcastle a few years ago, they were 12 points clear at one point, brought in Asprilla and they went down hill, happened with Rodney Marsh and Man City in the 70's too. Yes we need more players, we need a new left back (bridge?!?), central defender( dawson, forest?!), winger (reid, forest?!?) and a striker (McCarthy, porto?!). But i think we should wait til the summer. We have some good players in the reserves who i think could do a job. Fox (full back) Gerrard (central defender) Mcfadden, li tie could do a job in the middle and we still have Nick Chadwick who isn't getting the recognition he should get, scores for fun in the reserves.

But back to the original question...............No we can't!! :D

Don't think so!
think if the tables where like this at the end of season:
1.Man utd
2.Everton
3.Chelsea
4.Arsenal

That would have been somthing!!!!

They will choke like Ipswich did a few seasons ago. Ipswich were Champions League contenders until the 30th game, then they faded away to 5th. I blame that on fatigue and buckling under pressure and If Everton are still their after 30 games or so, I believe the same thing will happen to them.

Everton can win it no doubt if they spend their money on players with the calibre of Ballack and Makaay as well as van der Vaart.

Moyes will get ALOT to spend this coming January.
He can strengthen his squad to a great extent.
but at the moment he has a group of players which are working superbly for him.
bringing in other players-world class or regular may unbalance the ship.
but- if moyes can maintain a good flow with the new players and old together, then he can assure himself a uefa cup spot.
if form continues like so far untill end of march, then a cl spot is on the cards.
but like others say,the fairy tale may end and they can slump down very fast too.

Yeah and their success has nothing to do with Arsenal, don't even try and claim credit for that lol. It's down to excellent man management skills of David Moyes and an extremely tight, compact defence, excellent organisation and teamwork.

The Christmas and New Year period makes or breaks a title challenge, Man Utd used to always turn round their season at this time after a slow start. If Moyes can string together some more good results in this time, coupled with the squillions he should be getting to spend in the transfer market, then who knows? I doubt they will challenge for the EPL, but 3rd or 4th place is a genuine possibility.
