I have added kits to the FIFA 2002 directory. All show up fine in the Creation Center, but some of them cause the game to crash. An example is the Saudi Arabia 2GK kits by BOBO. They look great when you see them in the creation center, but when I try to play with Saudi Arabia, either the progress bar seen when the game loads stops and the computer completely locks, or the game crashes back to the desktop at 640 x480 and I have to do a cold boot. When I remove the kits from the FIFA 2002 directory, the game works fine.

I am using a GeForce 3 card with the 23.11 drivers. I have tried to alter my card's texture settings, but have had no success. Other kits I have placed in the same directory work fine, so it may have something to do with the format of the kit.

Any of you experts out there have any ideas?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't seen the kit you're talking about.. but one thing I can think of is that it might be a 2001 2GK kit and not a 2002 kit. Both of them have the same 'large' images.. but 2001 2GK kits don't have any of the other images in the file structure whereas 2002 is a little different as it has the file structure of the medium and small images (with blank images though).

This might cause you to be able to see the kits in the creation centure because it's only one 'up close' view, but the game would crash when it tries to switch between the sizes and can't find the right file structure.

Either check your kit with EA Graph.. if it has mjfr and ljfr (blank) images it's a 2002 2GK, if not it's 2001 2GK and has to be adapted.

You were right. The Saudi Arabia kit did not have the mjfr and the ljfr images. Is there a way to convert these kits to 2002 format?

Yeah... if you want to learn how.. get yourself a real 2GK kit and open the Saudi kit with EA Graph extract all the images to .bmp and then open the real 2GK and import the Saudi images into it.

OR, just email me the kit if you want, and I'll convert it for you.

It's quite simple.
