Can anyone do driven balls on PC?

I know I should be able to do a driven ball from a direct free kick by holding the 'Send player on a run' button and hitting the 'lob pass' button but it's not working for me with my gamepad. I can use all the other functions like first touch and driven crosses but not on the free kick. Anyone else experienced this problem?
