Wenger would win six trophies a season, if he had 200 million pounds to buy players. How many players has Mourinho turned from average or decent, to world-class? Off the top of my head, Wenger has done so to at least 10 players.

I'm seriously starting to think that 95% of the Portuguese population have massive inferiority complexes.

Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira, Maniche, Costinha, Derlei, McCarthy, Deco

Mourinho spent about £8m in Porto in two seasons to win a UEFA Cup and a CL.

You lose.

Yes, he had that huge ammount of money when he won the champions league and the uefa cup with Porto. He prolly had 1/3 of Arsenal´s budget.
Im seriously starting to think that 95% of the Ohio population has brain damage. Don´t even bring your stupid prejudice to a mere football discussion.
What´s wrong with showing a little happiness with the achievement of a countryman? With all the low jabs we have been taking, is it wrong to be happy because he is showing that he can be a capable manager in more competitive enviroments like the premiership?
Just a reminder to the ones who are already celebrating. He hasn´t won anything yet.

Ps My turn in the stupid prejudice game, go watch baseball you stupid yank.

yes Mourinho in Porto had 200 million to spend too...

players that he turned world class? Derlei, Deco, Carvalho, Ferreira, Maniche, Costinha, McCarthy

that it's his great ability, turn awful players in excellent players. Costinha and Derlei are a shadow of what they were last year with Mourinho.

He even turned mediocre players like Jankauskas or Marco Ferreira in good players.

Sorry but naming players like McCarthy and Maniche world class is just plain bias.

And answer me this. If Mourinho had last year's Porto squad in Chelsea this year do you honestly think he would do so well in the EPL?

if Wenger was Porto last couple of year's coach, would he won the CL; uefa cup, portuguese cup, supercup and the superliga twice?

No.

FACTS without the IF'S

Mourinho has 10 points of advantage of the Super Arsenal, Mourinho commands a team that pratically don't conceed goals, and how many points had Ranieri last season by this time?

Answer me this. If Wenger had his last Monaco squad in Arsenal when he joined do you honestly think he would do so well in the EPL?
What´s the relevance of that in this discussion? Different club, different players. The thing is that he is proving that he can do well in more competitive league, with a squad assembled and ran by him. Of course he couldn´t win the EPL with his Porto squad, it´s a completely different reality compared to the portuguese football.

Ps Mental note: Never discuss football matters with complete muppets who will resort to cheap insults instead of debating with valid points (not meant to you Bigp).

yeah naming the best player in Euro 2004 world class is completely bias.

And about McCarthy, he puts the hyped Luis Fabiano in his right pocket... and me, Punkt and Vinnie aren't even Porto fans.

Damn these Arsenal guys are extremely sore losers

World Class is meant for players like Sheva, Henry, Ferdinand. Putting McCarthy, Costinha and Maniche in that category is just plain wrong. Notice how I didn't mention Deco, Ferreira and Carvalho because they are world class.

The thing with Mourinho is that he had an easier job compared to Wenger and Fergie when he came to England. Chelsea already had a fantastic squad and they have unlimited funds so his transition is easier. To say **** like Wenger don't even reach Mourinho's feet is just stupid.

I agree that it wasn´t a very smart thing to say by whoever it was. Wenger is an extremely competent manager with worldwide reputation. His achievements were remarkable. But so are Mourinho´s achievements with Porto. We are yet to see what he is going to achieve with Chelsea but i can tell you this, other managers had unlimited funds and time (four seasons), i.e Ranieri, and won nothing. If he does succeed this year you don´t expect me to believe it was all thanks to Abrahmovic´s money. Manager and player efforts also count, if not Ac Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern would win every year because they are filthy rich clubs.

So McCarthy, Costinha and Maniche aren't world class because they play in Portugal? That's harsh.

Eusebio is regarded as one of the top5 footballers of all time and he never played outside Portugal.

I'm not saying its the money that wins titles. I'm just saying it makes things easier as it opens up more options to improve the squad. Of course Mourinho is an excellent manager but there are other excellent managers out there also.

What will be interesting is next year's title race. Mourinho would have settled in and the other teams will improve and be more familiar with Mourinho.

Money isn't everything. Look at last season for example.

You can have a highly priced squad assembled but it takes something special to build a team and Mourinho has done that in a few months.

Yeah the whole money excuse is getting boring especially when it comes from United fans whose team weren't exactly shy of spending large sums in the 90's during their domination.

Congrats to Bolton, and I say we just give Chelsea the title tomorrow. They're not gonna be caught and we at Arsenal should focus on the other tournaments we're still in. And people should really stop talking shit like how McCarthy and Maniche aren't world-class:| Next year's title race will be a lot closer I reckon.

Chelsea arent unbeaten, and wont, not in 1 billion pounds, come close to 49 games. They may have won the title, but with a 5000% increased budget and a loss or two, it is much less glorious and will recieve far less recognition than arsenal last year. Nothing in the history books for chelsea, except $$$$.
