So Blatter now discloses that the best placed 3rd teams in the World Cup 2010 play off games will be SEEDED.
Not enough that all the "big" European teams were all afforded the luxury of a seeding at the begginning of the qualifiers, but now it looks like some of FIFA's best money spinning teams are having a bad qualification, and perhaps might not even make it to South Africa, in steps Blatter to rescue their campaign, at the cost of "smaller", or in FIFA's thinking, financially lesser attractive teams.
Fifa are supposed to represent ALL the member footballing countries, and not just the most successful or profitable. This blatent move by Blatter at this late date, only confirms to us what a corrupt and stage managed show this coming World cup will be.
This is a blatant missuse of authority by Blatter and should be challenged. How much longer is this spiv going to be allowed to ruin World football.
.....and talking of corruption and gangsterism, Carlos Warner ( Blatters number 2), a man who should be in prison for deception, nepotism and money laundering at the least, has declared that HE doesn't like the style of England's bid to host the 2016 World cup.
What he is actually saying to the English FA is that their bribe is simply not huge enough at this moment in time. That's probably very near the truth.
Then to appear on TV and give it the big I AM, and at the same time telling the English FA that his reservations have nothing to do with football but everything to do with BUSINESS, then we can clearly see that to FIFA, the football is not as important as the money it generates.
This moron also wants to introduce "sin bins" at the 2010 World Cup finals. This will allow him more oppotunities for his betting syndicates to speculate who, why and against whom certain players will be sin binned. Warner you can be assured of course, will already know the answers to those questions. He can make sure it is so.
Bribery and corruption at the highest level, and they are allowed to get away with it time after time.
Here's what Trappatoni say's....
Trapattoni: FIFA are 'killing football'.
Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni has blasted FIFA's decision to seed European nations who qualify for a World Cup play-off spot according to their world ranking, claiming it is 'killing football'.
Sepp Blatter announced last week that the eight best runners-up from Europe's nine groups will be divided into two columns, according to their FIFA world ranking, meaning traditionally strong teams will avoid each other.
The move is particularly scandalous, as the decision was only made after some of Europe's more prestigious footballing nations, for instance Portugal and France, failed to win their groups out-right, as might have been anticipated.
And lest we forget, these money-spinning European big-shots are already afforded the luxury of being seeded when the initial group draw is made, so the likes of Italy and Germany automatically avoid one another in the group stage.
Trapattoni's side are on course to secure the runners-up spot in Group Eight, but with FIFA's new ruling they will likely come up against one of the stronger European nations in their play-off tie, with Germany, France and Portugal all possibilities.
And the former Azzurri coach is seething following FIFA's shameless attempt to ensure the big European names make it through to the World Cup finals in South Africa next summer.
"This solution is a bit like killing football, a few years ago the big European clubs thought about creating a 'SuperLeague', but they abandoned the idea because they saw the risks of this. This is a similar solution.
"Every national team has the same rights, and making a seeded draw goes against this principle. But of course, the business of the big teams controls everything."
The Republic boss joined his goalkeeper Shay Given in lambasting the football's governing body, the Manchester City keeper also hit out at the ruling on Wednesday.
"It's incredible that FIFA has taken a decision like this precisely when the bigger teams are struggling to qualify. It's actually disgusting."
We should all be similarly disgusted by the decision, if FIFA is so desperate to prevent any change to the football world order, perhaps they should guarantee Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and the Netherlands a place at every major tournament.
This would at least let the smaller competing nations know what they're in for, before they get their hopes up that they might qualify. I wouldn't put it past Blatter and Co in the fuutre.
