"04/14/2004. Birmingham have lodged what would be a club record £6.5m bid for PSV Eindhoven striker Mateja Kezman.

The prolific Serbia and Montenegro international has previously been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Newcastle, but Birmingham could be set for an impressive scoop.

The 25-year-old, who netted a hat-trick at the weekend to take his tally for the season to 25, is known to be keen on a move to the Premiership."

Kezman did say he will only go to a club that has guaranteed European football next season. That would be ace for Birmingham if they qualify for Europe and get Kezman.

Yeh the jury is still out on him until he does the business at International level or in a higher quality league.

He was too far from goal, he had to go back all the time to get the ball, not his quality

I think his first choice would be Newcastle but if I had a choice for him or Allen Smith, I'd choose Smith but he would be a good pick for Newcastle and Better for Birmingham. If they bought him I think Forsell would sign on full time cause he's never gonna get a shot at chelsea

with kezman (and forssell) , a good midfielder, and maybe 2 defenders birmingham wil be a very strong side next season

i wish this comes true. im sick of all these big clubs signing these great players, a small club like Birmingham deserves a chance to become big. :hump:
