Bink32.dll files and playing games.

hey guys.
i'm having problems playing a couple games that i have, civilization 4, and knights of the old republic.
they all installed just fine but whenever i try to run them i get a error that says something like "the application has failed to start because binkw32.dll was not found. i then googled my problem and found a place to download bink32. so i did. first i downloaded into the actual game folder itself. and i also tried to download it into the file system32 (in the windows folder) because some site suggested that. but even after i did that i got a message that said something like. "bink32 could not be found in the virtual libray" (something like that) i have no idea what else to do. i can be a total retard when it comes to these kinds of things so any help will be appreciated. thanks a lot!

edit: i got knights of the old republic to stop displaying that message, but as soon as i start up the game the screen resoloution changes and the game crashes. the situation for the other game hasnt changed at all though
and btw my system meets the required specs for both games. (at least thats what it said.)
maybe my video card isnt compatable with direct x9.0? (i saw somewhere that sometimes that could be a problem) i have an intel graphic media accelerator 900. and i know for a fact that this card is complete ****. lol but i managed to play fable just fine on my comp.
