I'm also one of the guy who want the game to be alot harder. I'm an AI patch-maker of EA's Cricket games but I don't know why we are having so much difficulty in cracking FIFA's AI. All the file structure is same - big filed, fsh files......etc. What we used to do in cricket was just tweak the AI parameters and copy those big files into main cricket folder where your exe is located and it worked like a jam. so in my opinion we can definitely fix the AI by tweaking all the parameters and I'm trying very hard to crack it. As soon as I find some good news, I'll let everybody here know that.

I agree, we have to try and break this ai, it's the only thing which stops this game from being great.

I've successfully tuned goalie's AI and right now I'm working on CPU's defence, so that they can closedown the space for human team in order to prevent us from running on the wings freely.

Another thing I have definitely noticed is when you change "MOMENTUM_ENABLED" value to 1, the game become very fast even in slow game speed. Which in turn produces lots of shots on/off the target without any proper build up.

Is there any way to make the user´s team defence better?
I simply can´t defend properly because there are lots of space between defenders making to easy for tthe opponent to score. (I have lost 4-1 played with Chelsea 2 times (6) )

Hey guys, :)

I've really been busy so much lately at my job, plus that I've been playing the FIFA 07 demo on Xbox 360 for over 40 times now, I love it, love it, love it!

anyways, About the FIFA 07 on PC, I've done many changes, some that are really useful, and some that you may not like, it is all about the taste of what you want or not. I fixed the ball physics to become even more realistic. I changed the way the CPU defends and tried applying some "cheats" that will not ruin the game play feel, but will make it harder and much more challenge to break through the defence of the CPU.

The keepers now move more and wider, for example they would jump for a ball coming from the corner instead of just wait and look at it.

I need only one thing though, this one thing can change the whole experience of the game, really everything; The thing that I need is to be able to change the size of either the players them selves to smaller, or the pitch to a larger one. I know for sure that OckHAM and his team are able to do so, but that was in FIFA 06, I hope that it is possible to do the same in FIFA 07. so, OckHAM tell me what you can do in this field of the game, I would love to hear some good news. :)

During this week, I'm going to post up my modified ai.ini and cpudiff.ini 's for you guys to test.

Biggy, as soon as we'll complete the first release of CEP07 (within 15 days), I'll be glad to explain you with detail how to change field size if you want. I hope you can be able to find good results in terms of difficulty (yep the game is still very easy, not so much as the 2006, but easy enough) so everyone can enjoy this very good release by EA.

What I suggest, anyway, after some testings, is to change less things possible from the ai.ini, maybe just the goalies tunings, because sometimes the change of a value (especially something related to ball physics) makes the CPU playing VERY bad. In my first entry-level tweaking I'm modifying mainly the cpudiff.ini with good results. Unuseful to say that for me YOU NEED cheatings to make Fifa hard enough ;)

PS. What a GOOD and technical discussione about gameplay, keep it on please :)

Biggy is there any downloadable version of your patch, that will work in semi-pro or pro mode as well, I would like to give it a try...

Hey guys.
I just wonder how you can test the gameplay being a player. Steve Pitts you are the smart one: Is it not the best way to test improvements if the CPU plays against CPU? :jambo:

Then one could test a weak team against a strong team home and away.
I tried with Biggies ai and used Accington vs. Liverpool (8 mins):

Liv - Acc 2-0; Liverpool missed a lot of chances had most of the play
Acc - Liv 0-1; Accrington missed a lot of chances and Liverpool some. Even amount of play time.

So it seems as there is improvement but it should be tried with more games.

I would say not, because when the human player is in control of one team the game flows very differently (whether that player be good at the game or not) from CPU versus CPU matches. What is required is a lot of testing from players of different standards using a variety of teams of different levels (eg. you are going to get a very different experience playing with Arsenal than Accrington Stanley) but I suspect that even EA don't manage that ;)
