There was a thread like this ages ago i think, but ah well, i was inspired by the bargin buys thread!

Post some of your clubs big money buys, that have turned out to be flops here!

I'll make a start with Newcaste:

1.Elena Marcalino - Cost us bout 7/8 mil n hes played no more than 20 games in 3 seasons. (spent 8 months out with a :drevil: broken finger :drevil: )

2. Carl Cort - Lanky pice of $hite

3. Anreas Anderson

he has not played hardly and is :drevil: injured :drevil: all the damn time

i played marcelino in fifa 2002, and he was ace at LB

No doubt hes a good player on fifa, but that just goes to show how dumn EA r !!!
He shouldnt even be in the newcastle squad on the game, hes there in place of someone like Caldwell who actually plays for us .

Apparently Mr Cort will is able to play in tonights game and will partner Ameobi/LuaLua upfront why they cant partner each other i dunno. He shud've ****ed off to coventry the other week coz we done ****in want the bastard

itv digital what a lode of crap. they put most of the nationwide clubs into administration. the money lose it not just because clubs by $hit players for a lot of money, or a club paying a couple of mill on a player and that player never playing for them. i blame it all on itv digital hang them up to dray.

nah, marcelino's ranking was 67 in fifa 2002

and he was good

My No.1 for this has to be Chris Sutton.
He cost Chelsea £10 million and only scored something like 3 league goals and 5 in all. Boy, that was a worthy investment.

Emile Heskey is another major disappoinment for me. Liverpool paid £11 million for him, but he doesnt score consistently and always gets pushed to that left Liverpool midfield position.

I am sure everyone will agree with me on this one,Sergei Rebrov. I dont know what made George Graham spend £11 million on him. The only reason he looked a good player at Dynamo Kiev was because of Shevchenko.

Next Bosko Balaban. I really dont know what to say about him, except that the £6 million Aston Villa paid for him was really washed down the toilet.

Veron.... but my thoughts on him have changed greatly this season, i think hes been playing marvelous, the way he pass's is good, as he can curl it past a line of players with the out side of his foot. I havnt see many players do that for a long time, and is extremly useful.

Rio Ferdinand.... 1 defender isnt gonna change a thing, but Utd's defence without Rio has been very fortunate and well the past few games when it was needed, but Rio is having a **** season.

i would agree with both of themthe prob was not all Chris Suttons though at Chelsea, our style of play did not suit him, i think a got a bit more than 3 goals but you may be right, he scored 2 against Man Utd i remember when we beat them 5-0 at The Bridge

Bosko Balaban has been dreadful when he has actually played for Villa,

another one would have to be when Leicester bough Adi Akinbyi for 6m, he was crap, then they sold him on for 2m

Alfonso who was bought by Barcelona from Real Betis after they were relegated. He was supposed to be replacement for Figo, what a (not) great success that was.

Ronaldo moving to Inter Milan from Barcelona. Now that was a complete waste of money, not only buying him for Barca but for the wages he collected whilst he was injured at Inter.

Gaizka Mendieta to Lazio from Valencia. A really bad move by the Spaniard.

Dani from Mallorca to Barcelona. He was regularly hitting the back of the net for Mallorca but decided to go for the money with Barcelona and now is only playing a minor role at the club.

Ronald de Boer from Ajax to Barcelona.

Francis Jeffers - Everton to Arsenal. The 'boy wonder' has done nothing since arriving at Highbury other than get injured.

Chris Kiwomya - Ipswich to Arsenal. Completely useless.

Nicolas Anelka - Arsenal to Real Madrid. Can't score to save his life at Madrid after a controversal move from Arsenal.

Gaizka Mendieta - Valencia to Lazio. His transfer to the Rome club makes Veron to Man Utd look inspired.

There're plenty more but I'll just give you a diabolical buy eleven for now:

That season he played for us he was by far our player of the season (doesn't say too much because we were s**t, but still). I'd have him back any day. Materazzi and yobo in defence. yes please.

On players who were a waste of money, Michael Ball's transfer from Everton to Rangers for about £6.5 mil. When he was at Goodison he was the English left back, then he moved to rangers played about a total of 45 minutes in two years and no-one remembers him. hahahahahaha, wrong choice there fella!!!!!

Fair enough he has been injured and injured quite badly i've heard. But it serves him right for being a money hungry git!!!!!

Also jeffers to arsenal, hahhahahahahahha. Thanks for the money!!!!!!!
