Bid made For Ronaldinho

Newcastle United are on the verge of hijacking Ronaldinho's move to Manchester United.

Sky Sports News understands that Sir Bobby Robson has offered Paris St Germain cash - believed to be £5million - plus former winger Laurent Robert.

Real Madrid are also said to be monitoring the Brazil World Cup winner's situation, although newspaper reports and Ronaldinho himself had suggested that his £9million move to Old Trafford was already done.

The St James' Park club have already brought in Lee Bowyer this summer as they prepare to overhaul United and Arsenal in the Premiership.

Ronaldinho has said he wants Champions League football next season and Robson is ready to allow PSG to appease their fans by offering former favourite Robert a return to the Parc des Princes.

"It's quite true that Newcastle are quite keen on signing Ronaldinho," Alan Oliver of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle told Sky Sports News. "They have put together a package where they would let PSG have Laurent Robert back and pay four or five million.

"What they are saying, is that Manchester United have not got the deal tied up. I think his wages are £19,000 a week and they'd have no trouble doubling that - and of course, they can offer him what he wants, which is Champions League football."

The last time Newcastle and United went head-to-head for a player was back in 1996 when current skipper Alan Shearer snubbed Old Trafford for a return to his Tyneside roots

Don't be too confident... Although Ronnie apparantly said United were the team for him etc~~ Real can match the wages United will pay and the've got Ronaldo and Carlos who will play with him at the confederations cup, I'm sure they'll do their upmost to persuade him to sign for Real...

I'd love to see Ronnie at Old Trafford next season, but I'm not that confident we'll get him... though I can't see him choosing Newcastle over United or Real, not in a million years.

Help?

Yeah, . Ronaldinho will definietly sing for Newcastle! Haha lol, that's a great joke. But somehow i think as soon as PSG will accept Newcastle offer, if they will even accpet it. United will offer more and PSG will say SORRY! Or even if it will be up to Ronnie he will say "As much as i admire Sir Bobby Robson" I need to play in a real team and not a team that fights to win the CL and won't win the EPL atleast in the next decade and have absolutely NO Chance of winning the CL. And EPL too.

i would say Newcastle has gone wild to spend so much money only b/c they r in CL. they are going the way Leeds had been through in my opinion. Even tho they have the 2nd biggest capacity stadium in England, but still...

Ronaldinho has already said that Man Utd are the club for him, but in the football world of nowadays, that means zilch.

However, I can't imagine him choosing Newcastle instead of Man Utd. No disrespect to Newcastle, which is a great club, but Man Utd has genuine Champions League winners potential and are the current Champions of England.

I'm still shocked that Ronaldinho would ever want to play in the EPL... they just don't play his style of football, La Liga and Serie A do, especially La Liga... anywayz if he moves to Man U it will probably be for the money...

I am pretty sure Ronaldinho would end up at Old Trafford. Real Madrid don't need one more left sided attacker and I don't think their bid is a serious one. They are just trying to annoy Man United. Plus he will get his coveted role in our club as forward behind nistelrooy.
Newcastle doesn't have much chance of getting him.
