Hey u know the best graphics card (upto 128 MB) is:-

Nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000.
Really cheap and reliable. (approx. $54)

Now if u wanna buy a nice graphics card but can't afford it (like Nvidia 6800 series, Radeon 9800 etc.) then u may like Nvidia Geforce4 MX 4000 (128 MB).

Well, I wsa planning on getting a £250 X800XT but my wallet said no, sio I got a 128mb card that absolutely wipes the floor with the MX4000 rubbish: (and the 9800)

nVidia GeForce 6600GT

For £110, you can't argue with that (H)

The GeForce4 MX 4000 is rubbish, accept the facts :(

A 9800 is not a "nice graphics card" like the 6800 series, that's the X800. The 9800 can be got pretty cheap now, although the 6600GT is a tad more and outperforms it.

Basically:
X850 > X800 = 6800 > 6600GT > 9800 > 9700 > 9600 > Ti4xxx series

Although I guess you could buy the MX4000 if you don't mind playing games on low quality with bad fps rates :X

6800Ultra > X850 > 6800 GT > X800 > 6800 LE > 9800 etc...

X850 is not better because two major reasons:

a) X850, like X800Pro or XT has pretty old architecture

b) does not support SM 3.0 technology

and, optional,

c) there's no better graphics card then 6800 Ultra or Ultra Extreme (by Gainward, of course) at this moment, what could be seen in many benchmarks.

Well hehe nvdia fanboy, the x850 hasnt even been released (unless im missing something) and u have already made benchmarks? We're toking about perfomance (and image quality where nvdia still srugles sometimes) not shaders (only Dynamic flow control is realy improved over P.S.:2.0 anyway)

Well, of course that we're talking about performance...
About benchmarks... we tested it in VIDILab, and it didn't come out in such brilliance that ATi described...

About that image quality, well... that's very discussable...
I ain't nVidiot, nor FanATic. I had (borrowed) x800XT for about two months and was dissapointed... And one of the million reasons were their fancy named Catalyst drivers.

It's just too old architecture. Next year could be the right year for ATi.

For the rest i agree
ATI has way better graphic cards but their drivers suck. IF they manage to make better drivers then surely they will be the best by difference. And don't think that Nvdia has better cards because of SM3 that's every year **** (well ok not sm3 but not much difference since 2.0) like new engine neogFX cinecFX and ****.

That's what i got. At first i thought it was grand. Then i found it having problems with flash animations :f***: , then i found it having problems with microsoft word :f***: (in win xp only though), then i found it having problems with NFS Underground 1 & 2 :f***: (2 of my fav games), then i started saving for a new graphics card.

Bottom Line: Cheap=Trash(well most of the time) :kader:

I have the XFX 6600GT PCI-E. Overclocked of course, 580 core/1.2ghz memory, soon to put a waterblock on it too (H)

Two FX5200's? And we thought concorde had gone forever! :D

The 6800Ultra is meant to be on a par with the X800XT, so how it beats an X850XT I don't know. Perhaps in Doom 3 because the nVidia's are better in OpenGL, but for the majority you'll find that the X850 series is the elite.

Slight revision:
X850XTPE > X850XT > X800XT=6800U > X800XL=6800GT > X800Pro=6800 > 6800LE > 6600GT > 9800Pro > 9700Pro > others.

I don't think the 6600vanilla is worth it, for the price you could get a 9800/9700 which would be better. Didn't put in the X800XTPE because it's hardly been available.

The X850's are the cream of the crop right now, the 6800/6600's are good for SLi (although I wont bother to be honest with SLi) and the 9800/9700's are still fantastic cards. Although I head there was a passively-cooled X700XT that was released (I think it was in Custom PC mag?) that looked pretty good, although I thought ATi had stopped making X700XT's, only X700Pro's.

Anyway, not a GeForce4 MX 4000 :D ;)
