Best Game(s) of the WC so far?

man united forever

Senior Squad
I just thought I'd make a thread about the best game so far. I know it's a bit early, and that the best games are probably goign to be in the knockout rounds, but we're starting to see the World Cup matches open up a lot more. Currently I think the best games have been Argentina v. Nigeria and Brazil v. Turkey. What does everyone else think?

Cameroon v Ireland, the worst was Nigeria v Argentina and without a doubt Germany v Saudi Arabia...

i thoroughly enjoyed Senegal v France, and tonight's Brazil v Turkey. The latter had everything; action, drama, thriller, and comedy, compliments of the ref & rivaldo :p

I defenetely enjoyed the France - Senegal game the most.
(maybe because it was the first one)

Regarding the quality, I'd have to say Brazil-Turkey.

Btw. I thought the 1st half of Spain-Slovenia game was
booooooring.

Argentina-Nigeria - great intensity, good technical skills

Cameroun-Ireland - great intensity, two very different games in 1st and 2nd half

Denmark-Uruguay - 3 great goals, lots of chances

Didn't you guys watch the Denmark game? They played the best football by far! Nice triangles, great goals, it was a pleasure to watch.

i'd say france-senegal because i was really thrilled hoping the french don't come back in the game

Otherwise i really enjoyed Ronaldo and co. moves this afternoon, it's always enjoying to see them playing

Germany - Saudi Arabia

The game might've lacked a variety of goals, but at least it showed a team playing attacking football for a full 90 minutes, which is more than I can say for the other teams that have played so far. And no, not all the goals came from headers in the Germany game - there was a free kick by Schneider, the power shot by Bierhoff, and then of course, the 6 goals by head. So, I guess you have a goal variety of 3 goals in just one game - how many goal varieties did you get from the other games? I don't find PK goals that attractive, and the other goals so far have been generally average (with the exception of the Irish goal, and that other goal that happened the same day).

If I were to pick a runner-up for best game, I'd also say France - Senegal. The game was far from attractive, and lacked quality goals, but I love Senegal for playing with their hearts, and defeating a seriously over-rated team.

Another fine game was Denmark - Uruguay. That was a bit of a see-saw contest. =)
