I had this the other day. I complimented another manager after I beat him. He asked if we could be friends, I clicked that I didn't want to make a comment. He took it as me ignoring him

I only wanted to leave making the comment for a week or so

Well as Kettering manager in conference, i praised Mourinho for winning the title, so in return he praised me which really pleased my players.
