Being friends with other managers

Well I checked Messina's coach profile, Bortolo Mutti, and it said 'Feels that you two could become friends'. So I made a positive comment on him and our friendship. And then I got a message like "Mutti praises his friend Opria". So my question is, are there any advantages in being a friend with another's team manager?

one never knows..but i usually thrash other managers and then win, so i can come on top..but anyway i don't see how it can be useful..

Well I just got friends with some managers from small teams (Messina, Piacenza, etc.) so I can loan them players or even exchange some with them if someone special appears on their sides. But yes, I have no mercy either with the big managers (H).

I never was able to get an offer for Downing accepted, I even bid something like 40m €, then I decided to praise their manager a few times, we got friends and I managed to sign Downing for ''only'' 30m €. Didnt work with trying to sign Cahill, after getting friends with Moyes though :( So maybe Downing's sale value was decided by other factors

I never say much in the media only if a response is needed so I'm neither enemies nor friends with anybody.

Media respones (friends/abuse/mind games etc) effect certain players performances. If they get a positive or negative PR thing next to their name, it will have SOME kind of effect on the game, i'm pretty sure this was one thing that SI said wasnt cosmetic.

yes, that's true...but i was refering to the manager status...i mean, in the future i hope SI make a more 'personal' game, where your situation as person and manager is a lot more explored? you guys understood what i said?:p

I just hope they don't take it too far and have Football and Midlife Crisis Manager 2007.

For some reason I'm friends with David Leary!

I always tend to put positive things, unless someone says something bad. It affects the players' motivation, like Tom says with the PR comments. You get stuff like "more determined following x's comments" . . . "feels he works well with the manager both on and off the pitch" . . . "following x's comments, unsure of whether the team can win the championship" etc.

Well if I get approached I always try telling the truth. If someone whines I say he can f*ck off and if they say someone played a very good debut and I think so too I say that, made me a media-friendly boss despite of me appearing in the media only once every 2 months or something.

What does it mean when a player has this reaction to PR?

"After the manager's comments to the media he is determined to go from strength to strength"
