Beckham plans to end career in United States

In an exclusive interview with ESPN Soccernet Press Pass, England captain David Beckham has again stated his interest in playing in the United States at the end of his career.

The former Manchester United midfielder revealed during last summer's England tour of the US that he would be keen to move to the US at the end of his stint with Real Madrid.

He has now confirmed that could be on the cards, although certainly not before the end of next season, when his current contract in Spain expires.

'At some stage, playing in America is possible,' Beckham, 30, told ESPNSoccernet Press Pass.

'I've one year left at Real, and maybe two more after that, but things can change in football and the American league does interest me.'

Were he to transfer to an American side, Beckham would become the biggest star of Major League Soccer and the most high-profile import since the late 1970s when the likes of Pele and George Best played in the North American Soccer League.

'I want to be part of a country that is passionate about sport,' said Beckham. 'I've got my academy in LA which is important to me because that is my life after the game.

Well has said that many times before - about as much as
"it's possible I might one will play in J-League etc...you never know"

It's all depending on where he is doing a "marketing"project atm...

I really miss the "Young Becks Person Type"
= no flashy-hairstylebleeching-bling-lifestyle-marketing-global-icon-thing.

In other words just a good footballer nothing else

I was a pretty big Beckham fan back in 99/2000, and I'm really disapointed about the way his carreer turned out...

ah Becks is fine, he'll finish loaded in America and be considered a very good English footballer, if unfortunately never reaching the heights of one of the best ever.

Personally though, i expect he's happy with that.

Good for him is what i think.
