This year "be a pro" is in career mode when you can choose:
manager
manager + player
player
but there is no reason why things would be different if the mode is the same. So obviously, at the second year, you will play in the european cups if you get qualified to them... Moreover, if you use the settings line to activate cups at the first year, you will play european cups the first year, even with your player
