funny no one thinks we can get past Holland when we were clearly better than them in 2004.
Is "we" Portugal? Holland is clearly a better team than they were in Euro 2004 and Portugal won't be playing at home this time.

Callum: Let's get things straight here, alright? You can have opinions and you are free to voice them -- UNLESS.... they involve the Portuguese or hell, something even remotely Portuguese. Got it?!

Virgo: Boulahrouz would crush out-of-form Ronaldo like a little bug and Miguel would need new lungs after running after van der Vaart all day. Btw, Adriaanse and Koeman are AMAZING coaches but are making Porto and Benfica perform badly on purpose just to lower the Portuguese moral, muhahaha!

Okay, back to reality :(

I got the almost the same...just switch Brazil and Germany and that's my final. Some very tough Quarterfinal matches to decide...Holland finished 4th.

No way it's gonna happen like that though. Definitely looking forward to the outcome.

C'mon man, ofcourse everyone can voice an opinion, but since when did it become illegal to reply or question it. If someone says something about the USA or Holland that you think is unfair or inaccurate, you're not gonna raise any contrary points? I'd expect you to, and you'd be right to do it..

Well, I dunno about VdV but Miguel didn't have much trouble containing Robben at Euro2004, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it'll be Nelson playing at the WC at RB, and not Miguel at all. The Ronaldo stuff, you're probably spot-on with that one unfortunatly :(

let's not lose sight of reality here, we just happened to play our two worst games of the year coincidently against Lichtenstein. Believe me I saw both games, Lichtenstein did absolutely nothing to us besides score a couple goals that were nothing other than ridiculous blunders by our retard keeper. Anyways, I don't wanna get into a we're better/you're better discussion, what happens on the field in 2006 is what matters....but since you're gonna use Lichtenstein as a cheap shot, take a look back at records from like the past 20-30 years and compare results in both official & non-official games when it comes to matches involving Portugal and Holland. Both at club and national level we have the clear advantage..

Anyways, good luck at the World Cup. I fully expect you guys to finish in the top 4.

well, I guess it's not entirely untrue. The Dutch I think have a better attitude than us when it comes to their NT, they along with a lot of other countries will fight equally hard against Lichtenstein as they would against a Brazil or Italy. Sometimes it seems like our players don't even wanna get their kits dirty when playing smaller countries :( Frustrating...

yeah and it's something that happens more often that one would expect.
In a past not to far, we used to cilinder those lower teams like 7-0 or 8-0, home or away.

The thing was that against the toughest teams in those same qualification groups we usually failed to win, and in the end, also failed to reach the Euro/World Cup's final phases.
And that was even more frustrating, at least for me.

Nowadays it's true that our players seem to lack motivation to play in those theorically easier games, but eventually, with few exceptions, end up scrapping a win.
We criticize them, it's our right to expect more from them against such crappy teams, but when they put 7 past Russia for example, we explode with joy.

Those are the matches that end up mattering, and at those matches our players have always given their best and normally achieve good results.
That's what keeps me confident for the WC to come :jap:

I'm pretty sure they can't play in the final.

If you mean Argentina and Holland, yes they can.

Holland beats runner up D
Argentina beats winner D
