Hoeness says the Sosa deal will be completed in the next 10 to 14 days, despite some smaller problems. He's Deisler's replacement so the guy for the RM position.

Great. I forgot about Hargreaves' injury proneness. You can't just rely on him as a key player.

Now if those Spanish hypocrits get van Bommel suspended we can as well already forget this game.

Van Bommel can play the Madrid game. (Y)

In an innovative decision, the Control and Disciplinary Body ordered Van Bommel "to be at the disposal of UEFA to promote fair play to youth players during a youth competition to be determined in the course of this year." As well as this social and educational assignment, the 29-year-old Dutch international also received a one-match ban from UEFA club competitions, deferred for a probationary period of one year, and a fine of €6,200.

Third new signing

Bayern poised to confirm Sosa capture

28.02.2007

Bayern's first Argentine import Martin Demichelis can look forward to playing alongside a fellow countryman soon, general manager Uli Hoeneß confirmed on Wednesday, as the German champions close in on a deal for midfielder José Ernesto Sosa of Estudiantes de la Plata.

"It's very likely we'll be announcing a done deal in the next few days," Hoeneß declared. Sosa is expected in Munich for a medical within the next 10 days, "and we'll complete the formalities at that point," the Bayern official continued. Sosa would be the club's third new signing for next season alongside Jan Schlaudraff of Alemannia Aachen and Schalke dynamo Hamit Altintop.

Reminiscent of Deisler

Hoeneß has likened the 21-year-old South American's ability to the abundant skill possessed by Sebastian Deisler, and the Bavarians are preparing to offer the Argentine player a long-term contract. "Everything's ready. All that's missing are the medical and my signature," Sosa told Argentine daily El Dia on Wednesday. "I'm delighted we've reached agreement, and I'm looking forward to the new challenge."

"He's an extremely skilful player who operates on the right side," Hoeneß explained, although the player can switch flanks or play in the hole behind the front two if necessary. He has recently lined up alongside former international Juan Sebastian Veron for his home town club Estudiantes, and is reported to have consulted the former Lazio and Chelsea star about the merits of a switch to Europe.

Decisive contribution to title

Sosa, who stands 1.79 metres/5 ft 10 inches and weighs 79 kilograms/174 pounds, has made 105 league appearances for Estudiantes, scoring 11 goals (data from official club homepage). The most important of these came in mid-December when he hit the target in his side's 2-1 victory over Boca Juniors in the Argentine championship decider. On Tuesday, national boss Alfio Basile handed him a call-up to the full Argentina squad.

"Bayern are one of the best in the world, a highly respected club and an outstanding team," Sosa was reported as saying. The newcomer will undoubtedly find a source of help and advice in Demichelis. "We've not spoken to each other yet, but we have a mutual friend, and he'll definitely make sure we get in touch," Micho informed fcayern.de.

Yea i read that if they get relegated then there is no problem finding a club for him seeing that host of clubs want him. Well i don't want Mochengladbach to go down, but i also want Jansen (6) hehehe

Aren't we also looking for a striker?

Jansen. Apparently there's already an agreement that if Gladbach get relegated we'll get him for a reasonable fee.

AWESOME!!!

Now we just need a playmaker (or right winger if Sosa plays playmaker) and we should be set. Keep Owen.

Big win for us today, especially with Schalke and Stuttgart losing. Too bad Hunt got a hattrick for Bremen to give them a 3-0 win. Great performance by our Podolski today though. And can some of you just calm down when it comes to Brazzo. I think I'm the only one ever defending him. Throughout our losing streak he was the only one that was doing well in my opinion. He brought energy and hard work unlike any of the other players.

Now we are only 6 points off Schalke who we still get to play, and only 2 off Stuttgart (3rd).

Hitzfeld's striker rotation seems to work. Poldi with one goal and two assists. He's finally gaining confidence.
About time Schweini got benched.

The defense is still a mess though. Lucio and van Buyten each to blame for a goal. Nice to hear that Ismael played his first match since his longterm injury for the reserves today. He even scored.

Hertha BSC Berlin-FC BAYERN 2:3

Nothing to see in the 1st 30 minutes, then a terrible doublepack bye FCB with Brazzo and Poldi in 30 seconds lol:bob: !
The game was closed but the 1st chance for Hertha is goal, Gimenez. Then FCB controlled the game very quiet, 3-1 with Roy Makaay, FCB could score again so many times u cannot imagine, but as always one chance for the others= 1 goal, van Burik.
OK Poldi, great van Bommel, Schweini great, ok the FCB, ok the 3 points on a difficult field like Berlin, only one trouble I've seen today and in all the matches after the Winterpause:
every chance for the other team is a goal, think to the 1st match in Dortmund, 3-2 means 3 chances for BVB09, and the last 3 matches? 3 shots for Real= 3 goals, one shot for Wolfsburg and goal for Makiadi, today 2 shots for Hertha=2 goals.
It's so strange to me.....:boohoo: :nape: (H)

Guys, is it true that we've signed Sosa and van Bommel can play with Real Madrid or am I dreaming?????:)
