A cut can get you an infection, therefore they should rest him for the next game, i think.

Yeah, and that's why we have a convenient and new invention called the bandage. Wrap it up and he'll be fine if all he has is a gash.

Lahm will play tomorrow for the amateur team, if everything goes well he should be in the squad on Saturday.

Bayern have withdrawn the offer to extend Ballack's contract today. The ultimatum which was set to mid November ran out. No player is bigger than the club.

I'm not happy about the Ballack situation at all. But if we add Podolski and van der Vaart (please!) I think we become a better team. Plus we become an INSTANT Ewing Theory candidate.

What is the Ewing Theory? Well, two conditions must be in place.....

1. A star athlete receives an inordinate amount of media attention and fan interest, and yet his teams never win anything substantial with him (other than maybe some early-round playoff series).

2. That same athlete leaves his team (either by injury, trade, graduation, free agency or retirement) -- and both the media and fans immediately write off the team for the following season.

When those two situations apply, you have the Ewing Theory, which basically means the team will win more than they have ever won with the player, namely the Champions League.

Like we won anything with anybody else (Camby, Hou, Sprew etc.). THing is Ewing was a lone warrior, had absolutely no others helping his @ss.

Ballack leaving? well :ewan:
I gotta agree with Shifty Podolski and VDV at least....or Aimar :jap:

O yeah...when did a bandage help heal a wound if you keep runing like a headless chicken after a football Shifty? Just curious.

I say that whoever the replacements, they should be young, and we shouldn't overspend because even if Ballack leaves and you bring in a couple of stars, I don't see us winning the CL but we can obviously still win the Bundisliga with vdV and Podolski.

The whole case is just Bollocks

Bayern admit Sagnol interest

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Juventus are interested in taking Willy Sagnol to Italy.

Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that the Turin giants could well scupper his plans to tie the French defender to a contract extension.

"We will talk shortly with Wily," he told Bild, "and we will do all we can to tip the scales in our favour but Juventus are a very serious and powerful competitor."

It appeared that the Bavarian outfit had given up hope of persuading Sagnol to stay, although Rumenigge's words would now suggest that there is at least an outside chance of him remaining in Germany.

But Juventus would seem an ideal destination for the 28-year-old, offering him the opportunity to link up with compatriots Lilian Thuram, Patrick Vieira and David Trezeguet.

The Bianconeri have reputedly prepared a package worth €20 million (£13.5 million) over four years as they try and encourage Sagnol to make the journey over the Alps.

The Frenchman will be able to leave the club as a free agent when his contract expires during the summer and, although he has been linked with Lyon and Valencia, his future would now seem to lie at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

I really don't want him to leave but if he feels its best for his Career then so be it. But seriously vince is right its so hard to find a great RB these days :(

If it continues, Juve will have the whole Bayern backline by 2009. :p

Saw Sagnol play and I got to admit he's class. (Y)

You guys should go for Trabelsi(free), Srna(supposed to be good) or can take Zebina off our back. :p

sorry getting Zebina is a waste of money (no offence mark) :)

Bayern sweet on Srna

Bayern Munich are believed to be keeping tabs on Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Dario Srna.

The Bavarians are believed to be assessing a number of options in the transfer market, with coach Felix Magath concerned a number of his key players could move on.

With Michael Ballack yet to pledge his future to the club and Willy Sagnol also far from certain to remain at the Allianz Arena, Magath is casting his eye far and wide in search of options.

He dispatched scouts to the Uefa Cup meeting between Stuttgart and Shakhtar last week, with Croatian star Srna believed to be the object of desire.

Srna, who was a target for Liverpool in the summer, is being tipped to play a big part for Croatia at next summer's World Cup finals and Bayern may attempt to broker a deal prior to the tournament kicking off.

The midfielder's agent Igor Stimac has hinted Srna may be open to an offer from Bayern, but feels an approach could fall on deaf ears at Shakhtar.

"Last summer Liverpool offered €3.5 million, but [Shakhtar owner Rinat] Ahmetov rejected it," said Stimac. "I am not sure how he will react to a possible offer from Germany."

Mark any more info on this kid? Never seen him play before

I know Zebina is not worth it. :p

Never saw Srna play. Only heard good things about him. I got him with Juve on FM06 but I don't judge a player based on a game like others do.

Roque accepts new deal, op declared a success

In contrast to Michael Ballack, Roque Santa Cruz has accepted the offer of an extended contract from Bayern. The Paraguay international, set for a long spell on the sidelines with cruciate ligament damage, has agreed to prolong his stay in Munich for another three seasons until 2009, chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Monday's Annual General Meeting.

At that very time, Roque was most probably lying on the operating table in Vail, Colorado, where renowned specialist Dr Steadman was busy repairing the torn cruciate. The world-famous American surgeon has previously patched up current Bayern stars Philipp Lahm, Andreas Görlitz, Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn for the same injury.

Surgery declared a success

The news from Vail was that the operation went according to plan. Roque even undertook a first attempt at walking around the hospital grounds the following day, although no date has been set for his return to Munich as Dr Steadman wishes to keep him under observation for a spell.

Roque will be keen to hurry home, as he became a father for the second time just a few days before flying to the States. His wife Giselle gave birth to a daughter Fiorella on 11 November.

Just put Lahm at his natural position and buy Dede or Jansen, problem solved.

The press has brought up a new name as Ballack's successor. It's the only German player that could replace him and has an almost identical playing style: Bremen's Tim Borowski. The 25 year old has a good shot, a good header and can play basically every midfield position. He's yet to prove his class on the international stage though.
