You're not taking into consideration the mentality within Bayern. Makaay HAS to score all the goals (because of all the money they invested in this old guy) and Ballack is next man in line, including penalties. Hmm you have to wonder how many penalties Makaay has kicked when the actual foul was committed on Pizarro, endless. And even when Makaay didnt take those penalties, Ballack would.
Now to the numbers:

Games Played

Pizarro 23 (BL) 7 (CL) 5 (DFB) = 35
Ballack 27 (BL) 9 (CL) 4 (DFB) = 40

Goals Scored

Pizarro 11 (BL) 4 (CL) 6 (DFB) = 21
Ballack 13 (BL) 2 (CL) 3 (DFB) = 18

Now, also you DO realize that Pizarro wasn't always a starter right? So if we went by minutes, the differece would be HUGE in minutes being played.

You see how retarded was to compare both players?
Uh when was Pizarro not a starter apart from his inuries? Santa Cruz was injured the whole season, Guerrero played when either Claudio or Makaay where injured or as came as a sub. Penalties or not, you can't call Ballack average he scored 18 goals in 40 games a MIDFIELDER!!!!

Makaay HAS to score all the goals (because of all the money they invested in this old guy)
This was the best signing in years, he is worth every penny of the 20M and he can play for 4,5 more years on this level because he relies more on his goal instinct than on anything else.

Your legend player was just about to leave for a few more pennies. You think he really cares about Bayern? Hell, when it comes to loyalty, Matthaus is number 1.. and hear me when I say this, BALLACK WILL NEVER BE MATTHAUS.

Who said anything about loyalty? Once he signs, he SIGNS! I couldn't care less if he is loyal or not, but he will be to some point. He won't just play for the hell of it. If he signs, he signed for a reason!

Did you ever think that that money could be better spent?
You completely missed the point you Carlos*ass. My point was that not all that money could be coming from Bayern's pockets, it could be from outside sponsorships etc. ****in read properly before jumping into the fire with your sarcastic bull****.

And money better spent? Are you stupid? I swear some of you people play too much FM2005. D'Alessandro is good yes, but he's no Ballack. You just dont dump Ballack and drop D'Alessandro in there and think all will be well... In Ballack you have a tall, strong, technichally gifted player in your ranks who basically runs your team, and you talk about money better spent? Go back to fifa on your playstation wee boy.

Effenberg was a legend! I will never forget his commitment in 2001 and his strive to get Bayern that long-wanted Champions League trophy.

Ssshhhhh...don't tell the other Madridistas, but I'd rather have Ballack now and worry about Robinho in a year or two(for much cheaper).

Becks-----Gravesen----Ballack
-----------Zizou-------------

Solid midfield!!!

Maybe you want Kahn, too, as a striker?

i posted that in the real thread also
imo ballack could play that position. he did it for the nationalteam in the wc 2002. also with a roberto carlos behind him ballack does not have to make the complete offensive game of real on this side, so he has the option to go into the middle/into the penalty area to score.
so it´s not the badest position for ballack.

It might not the worst position for him but you can find better players to fill in that role. I expect a left midfielder to run the side up and down and to make crosses. If you have Ballack you have to play him in the middle otherwise you're wasting his talent.

This can be a long time till Ballack makes his decision, the club has not given him a specific date, he canw ait until early 2006.

It's sad that you don't understand the position. He wouldn't be a winger like Ze Roberto. He would be a CMF on the left.

Check it out....

-----------------Casillas----------------
----------Helguera-----Samuel----------
Salgado-------------------------R.Carlos
----------------Gravesen---------------
Beckham------------------Ballack-------
---------------Zidane-------------------
---------Ronaldo--------Raul------------

Notice how the left is open for RC. His position would be similar to Deco's/Xavi's in Barcelona.

you are sure right about that.

Ballacks strength is neither to be a playmaker who claims every ball nor to be a number 6 who stops every attack of the opponet (like jeremies was in his prime). [just look at ballacks biggest year in his career 2002 at leverkusen: Ramelow played behind hime as the number 6, bastürk in front of him as a number 10 behind the strikers] So Ballack doesn´t have a certain role in teh game. In every game there are phases you don´t see him at all and then he scores a important goal or makes a great pass. if he does that on a central or a left central position in the midfield is imo irrelevant.

yes that´s the position i thought up for ballack also
i think he´s perfect for that, especially with a RC in the back

Even better. CMF is the postion I'm suggesting he would play. You pretty much agree with me by saying that position is where he had the most success.

You typed quicker than me...... (Y) We are in total agreement. I really hope we get Ballack. At least he's proven. I'm a bit worried about Robinho.

How much do you guys think Ballack has left in his tank. He's soon to be 29. Do you think he'll be able to play at a World-Class level for 4 more years?

I think so. Figo, Zidane, and Beckham were at similar ages when we bought them. Ballack would be class in our midfield. IMO, much more usefull than Robinho.
