Barthez Replacement

carrol's done quite well when called upon.
Barthez has had one of his worst seasons I feel.
You should hear the French media praising the goalscores skills, precision and cleverness whenever Barthez makes a real blunder. haha
The same can be said about RIO, he hasnt been convincing at all in his 1st year in Red.
Yet ManU are probably on their way to win the league :p

Since when is Barthez leaving. Oh wait The Sun had some "breaking news" again from "reliable, close sources" to Barthez.

hmm I think

Hmm I think that the best keeper Manchester could buy would be Thomas Sorensen of Sunderland. He is ever so good, imagin him behind a great defence instead of sunderland's wicked defenders!!!

he does quite well at the Danish International side I hear-

cheers

Barthez is inconsistant. Mr Niemi would be the key choice. I doubt Strachan would let him go though. Robinson, meh, he's like Barthez. Inconsistant. Not to mention he reminds me of a guy who drinks pints and curry's.

I seem to remember that Fergie came in with a really late bid for Niemi when he left Hearts.

How much did barthez cost, was it not about £10M?

I'd go for Carrol for a season and then see what happens.

8.25m I think. At the time he was the worlds most expensive keeper until Buffon broke onto the scene. :D

yes, Barthez is inconsistant, but he also play a big part in Man U's remarkable defensive record this season.
Don't forget how vital he blocked Henry last minute's strike when United draw 2-2 with Gooners.

Anyway, I'll choose either Rustu Recber, or Niemi.
