Avoiding Fifa-Updates over Matchup

It is possible to avoid the Update-function within Fifa 2009? Perhaps by changing the pc_cl.bin or fifa.db?

I have tried the Rollup utility from Steve Pitts, but it seems, that it doesn't work with Fifa 2009.

I got the error-message: "!!! Header of file FIFA.DB not in expected format"

I would be very pleased, if someone have any idea to solve this.
